The Washington Commanders host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season at FedEx Field on Sunday, September 10th. Washington opens the season as big home favorites over a Cardinals team led by a new Head Coach in Jonathan Gannon, and questions at who will start between recently acquired veteran QB Joshua Dobbs and rookie Clayton Tune.
This will be the first regular season game for newly named starting QB Sam Howell to work together as they look to turn bring some life to Washington’s offense after three years under Scott Turner. Ron Rivera starts his fourth season as Washington’s head coach, and knows he needs to start out hot with new owner Josh Harris evaluating the entire organization.
