The Washington Commanders are on a mini-bye week after playing the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. They had 10 days to wash the stink off of that 45-10 nationally-televised drubbing, but the bad news is their next opponent is the Miami Dolphins.
Washington ruled out two players for Sunday’s game. Emmanuel Forbes suffered an elbow injury vs the Giants, and was inactive vs the Cowboys. He’s going to miss another game, but Ron Rivera said that he would likely be active next week, but the team is on a bye. Forbes should return to practice for the Commanders Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
James Smith-Williams has still not been on the field since injuring his hamstring vs the Seahawks three weeks ago. Washington will continue to have Casey Toohill starting at DE with rookies KJ Henry and Andre Jones behind him.
FB/TE Alex Armah also suffered a hamstring injury three weeks ago, and has not played since. He was limited in practice to start the week, but was a full go today. Armah will return to the active roster vs the Dolphins.
Three more Washington defenders didn’t practice as they deal with injuries. CB Emmanuel Forbes suffered an elbow injury vs the Giants, and and was out again.
