The Washington Commanders enter Week 13 on a min-bye week as they prepare for a return to FedEx Field. They are hosting the Miami Dolphins, one of the top teams in the NFL. Washington was blown out by the Dallas Cowboys 45-10 on Thanksgiving, and fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio a day later. Ron Rivera will now call the plays on defense for the final five games of the season.
The Washington Commanders opened the week as 9-point home underdogs, and that line has already jumped up half a point. The Dolphins are 8-3, and are two games ahead of the Buffalo Bills. Miami has won three of their last five games, but those losses were to the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Miami is a high-scoring team, but they’ve beaten up on teams without winning records.
Washington has five games left, and their playoff chances are very slim with their 4-8 record, and a rough schedule. Sam Howell’s development as a starting quarterback continues to be the most important part of this season, and he will look to continue his progression at the position.
