Phidarian Mathis has successful surgery to repair his torn meniscus

Phidarian Mathis was taken by the Washington Commanders in the 2nd round of this year's draft. The big DT was drafted to replace backs Matt Ioannidis(cap casualty) and Tom Settle(free agency). He came into Week 1 as the #3 DT on the team. His first game, and season, were cut short when his leg bent the wrong way and he was carted off the field with a torn meniscus. He was placed on IR, and Mathis just posted that he has had successful surgery. Rest up and get ready for next season young man!
