This just broke in the post.
It turns out that Dwayne Haskins was not coming to an early AM workout on the day he died on I-595. Rather, after an evening of heavy drinking, some fighting, and possibly some drug use, he had a high blood alcohol level, 2x the legal limit.
The only question this answers for me is how a) someone out of gas on the highway doesn't just call 911 or AAA or something and b) how does an elite athlete fail to see a giant dump truck headed towards him.
It is just a tragic end to a young man's life, I am saddened.
