Taylor Heinicke time.
We got the report from Ian Rapoport last night that it was believed by the team that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had suffered a hip subluxation. The team needed to do an MRI this morning to confirm, and to see the extent of the damage.
Rapoport is now reporting that Fitzpatrick did suffer a hip subluxation, and will be placed on injured reserve while he recovers. He noted that there has been no indication that this injury was season-ending. Fitzpatrick will have to miss at least 3 games under the NFL's modified injured reserve rules that were put in place last season.
Taylor Heinicke will reportedly get the start as expected on Thursday night when they host the New York Giants, and beyond. Kyle Allen will be his backup. The team also added QB Kyle Shurmur to the practice squad this morning.
