Could My 4-3 Under Defensive Wish for the Washington Football Team be Coming True?

NFL: Washington Football Team Minicamp Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Before the summer kicked off, I spoke a lot about finding ways to get all three of our top defensive lineman - Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and Matt Ioannidis on the field at the same time.

Now, my plan was two-fold: 1)this look could give a breather to either Sweat or Young, by allowing Allen to kick out and play some 7-technique EDGE; or 2)we could run some 4-3 Under and have Sweat, Young or even Shaka Toney in that walked-up SAM position.

I wrote this article back in early June, with some creative ways we could mix the defense up (including the 4-3 Under), to maximize the talent and skill on the field at the same time.

According to Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic DC, the Washington Football Team is doing just that.

Now, this could be purely experimental, or this may be something we see in the regular season. Regardless, it will be worth monitoring as we move forward.

Please, share you thoughts in the comments section on this new look.
