Ryan Fitzpatrick was off on some throws vs. the Bengals, but he over two preseason games is averaging 12.83 yards per completion. That would have led the NFL last season. Small sample size of course, but we already are seeing signs of #WFT’s passing game being more explosive.

The addition of FAs Trey Hendrickson/Larry Ogunjobi and rookies Joseph Ossai (3rd), Cameron Sample (4th), Tyler Shelvin (4th), Wyatt Hubert (7th) didn't turn the Bengals D-Line into world beaters. We'll play much better D-lines than that. Not everything in preseason is fake. https://t.co/sKndoZtEGi

Jarret Patterson is why the preseason is so important.
— Eat Sleep WFT (@WFTTalk) August 21, 2021
All the praise to Jaret Patterson and what he’s been doing… but damn can Torry McTyer play ball.
— Ryan Fowler (@FowlerRyan1) August 21, 2021
He’s been everywhere through two games.

Asked Ron about what Jamin Davis did vs CIN. Said he saw growth from Jamin compared to what he did in NE but also noted he's still thinking on certain looks. Added that the Bostic/Holcomb pair in nickel gives the defense "more savvy" and he wants Davis to get there eventually

Ron Rivera says "I can" when asked if he would feel comfy announcing Ryan Fitzpatrick as the #WashingtonFootball starting QB, which is completely expected.
— Chris Russell AKA The Rooster (@Russellmania621) August 21, 2021
The "I can" was an 'I could do that, but why would I?" type of answer.
Says they have 21 days. @team980 @LockedWFTPod
I wouldn't look too deep into Rivera not naming Fitzpatrick the starter. Key would be: What would he say if we asked him about any position? Hasn't happened. My sense: He'd say the same things he's saying about QB.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 21, 2021
Maybe I'm a bit obsessed, but the FG operation looked a lot smoother. A week ago, for example, when Way would look back to LS, ball came out fast -- around .4 seconds on 1st one. (in part b/c took longer for TW to turn back to him). Last night, 1st FG: around .7. better rhythm
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 21, 2021
Separate issue. for me the operation has to be smooth or bigger problems. if smooth op, then easier to understand misses. then that becomes the issue.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 21, 2021
Oh gotcha. Haha. No. All 31-34. Looked better in warmups but as u know it’s been inconsistent

Rivera says they will treat this week as a regular-season week. Day to day prep will simulate a normal schedule including game plans.

Bears’ HC Matt Nagy reiterated today that Bears’ QB Andy Dalton will start Week 1 at Los Angeles against the Rams, saying: “We need to see him in the regular season.”

Dallas has been extremely cautious to avoid setbacks, and doctors feel good about Dak’s progress. Plan is to ramp up his practice workload again next week, then cut him loose the week of the opener. Dak told me recently “there’s no doubt” he’ll be 100% in Week 1 and all season.

I bought a $10 green hat in Toronto in June of 2019 and estimate that I’ve worn it 80 percent of the days since. Left it on a plane yesterday and don’t know where I go from here.
