The following players have been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 List:
G Brandon Scherff
T David Sharpe
Brandon Scherff was pulled from practice this morning after starting the day with the rest of his teammates. David Sharpe was also not on the field, and that led to a lot of different combinations on the field today. Ron Rivera was asked about their absences in his post-practice presser. Scherff and Sharpe will both be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list later today. This will make 6 players that have been sidelined since players reported for camp 5 days ago.
Ron Rivera talked extensively about the disadvantage this is for the team. Right now they are losing evaluation time for the players that are pulled. Rivera ran through the scenarios that could happen during the season if unvaccinated players are out of action. He says they will continue to give players information and encourage them to get vaccinated.
All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff and OT David Sharpe are the latest Washington players on the COVID list, joining WR Curtis Samuel and DT Matt Ioannidis, among others.
