Brandon Scherff Reportedly Turned Down Deal to Make Him the League’s Highest Paid Guard

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Washington Football Team Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

John Keim is easily the most connected reporter covering the Washington Football Team. Not only are his words very calculated, but when he speaks, most fans take note - as they should.

In a recent Podcast, Keim mentioned that Scherff and the team haven’t talked “recently” about a long-term deal, but he HAS turned down offers that would have made him the highest paid guard in the league. John went on to say that a league source he spoke to feels it will be difficult to keep him, saying - “that ship has sailed”.

You can listen to his Podcast below:

You all know I am one of the biggest Scherff fans out there, but if what is being reported is indeed true, it’s time to trade him...PERIOD!

Although there is still a chance, as John says in his Podcast, that the two side “could” come to an agreement, the likelihood of that remains slim. There are certainly teams who have the cap room to take on his 2021 franchise tag salary, and maybe even work a sign-and-trade.

It’s possible Scherff could garner as high as a second round pick, or maybe even a player...looking at you Baltimore or New York!
