Sammis Reyes said he was at the gym on the floor, doing abs when his agent called to tell him the WFT signed him. He stopped what he was doing and started crying.
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) April 14, 2021
Reyes said when he first came to the states he didn't speak English at all. He mentioned how his family sacrificed for him and it means the world to him and his family to have the opportunity.
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) April 14, 2021
Sammis Reyes said he's been on his own in the U.S. since he was 14. Didn't speak English. His parents are still in Chile.
— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) April 14, 2021
He has a degree in business, nearly got a 2nd in finance, played D-1 bball at Tulane, was on the Chilean nation'l team and is now the newest TE for the WFT.
Reyes said one of his strengths is "my ability to run routes and go get the ball high up in the air.... I'm 6-6 and can jump 40 inches so if you throw the ball high, I can go get it."
— John Keim (@john_keim) April 14, 2021
Sammis Reyes is an impressive young man that it would be hard not to cheer for to have success. He is a young player that "get's it" as far as the magnitude of his position and opportunity. Another nice look for an ever changing Washington Football Team landscape.
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) April 14, 2021
We just wrapped up a zoom session with Sammis Reyes...Quite a story...Moved here at 14 with no other family. 1st school attended shut down; was living in an apartment with several other teens on the team...Taught himself English. No wonder he cried for 30 min after deal was done.
— John Keim (@john_keim) April 14, 2021
This interview with Sammis Reyes is absolutely amazing. This guy is incredible.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) April 14, 2021
I am in love with this story.
Did you know that Sammis Reyes was once bitten by a cobra? After days of excruciating pain, the cobra passed away.

Happy to have you join the squad, @SammisReyes pic.twitter.com/tmOO1ibsq4

If OT/OL is truly the target at 19 for Ron, there's gonna be a great OL on the board if this turns out to be accurate. https://t.co/noCWB1LTEo

Man, if you just wanna & write Sammis Reyes off, do NOT listen to Logan Paulsen on @john_keim’s new bonus pod. He lays out the work that still needs to be done, but oooh he likes him.
— Strick 9 (@SpiderStrick) April 13, 2021
A couple things I noticed from Jeremy Reaves last Thursday was his ability to recognize plays and communicate.
— Nick Akridge (@PFF_NickAkridge) December 2, 2020
The first example of this is a screen he knows is coming. Dalton signals to his WR and Reaves recognizes it, tells Curl allowing him to sell out to make the tackle. pic.twitter.com/3s5QAY4spP

Finally was able to update my catchable ball (accuracy) chart with Mac Jones' data. I compared them to my database of 89 QBs and color-coded the results into quartiles. Green is top-25%, yellow 26-50%, orange is 51-75%, red is bottom 25%. Impressive numbers sans Lance (1/?) pic.twitter.com/Rz4ubm02GC

Is Penei Sewell a special kind of offensive line prospect? @BrandonThornNFL certainly thinks so.

I can’t wait to sit around waiting for the draft and then watch Jacksonville run the clock all the way down just to pick Trevor Lawrence.

Cleveland #Browns are signing Jadeveon Clowney to a 1-year deal for $8 million. Source says an additional $2 million in incentives will be available. Plan is to play Clowney opposite Myles Garrett. A salary restructure or release of Sheldon Richardson may be required.

The NFL has released a schedule for offseason workouts at team facilities, which can begin next week. The NFLPA is still encouraging players to stay away. Our updated story: https://t.co/lKnpRBCfeK

NFL memo notes incentives players have to show up to in-person workouts. https://t.co/CUDyZUbytN
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) April 15, 2021
Another NFL memo to clubs tonight noted a primary incentive for players to show up to voluntary workouts: Get hurt at the team facility, you have injury protection. Get hurt elsewhere, you don’t and “a club will not be responsible for the player’s compensation or other benefits.” pic.twitter.com/oS46ZkzpAB

Only 4 players on the #Broncos have workout bonuses. Will be interesting to see if teams where workouts are more the norm will have the same decision to skip offseason programs.
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) April 13, 2021
This was kind of why the workout bonus became a thing. it pulled back when more players were just showing up even though they didnt have them. That said I think OTAs can be beneficial for young players fighting to make a team.
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) April 13, 2021
Teams with the most money in workout bonuses
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) April 13, 2021
Packers- $5.1M
Jaguars- $3.7M
Bills- $3.2M
Chiefs- $3.1M
Panthers- $1.9M
Bengals- $1.9M
Raiders- $1.8M
Bears- $1.2M
49ers- $1.1M
Patriots- $1M
One more comment re:Broncos not showing up for offseason workouts...
— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) April 13, 2021
I'd bet players who have workout bonuses show up in whatever capacity they can. They going to forfeit 6 figures in a bonus? Hell no
Its just 4. Hes the big one.

Teams have been consistently clear at this time of the offseason: they're not going to offer UFAs more than the $1.75M maximum that makes sure they don't count as compensatory free agents.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) April 14, 2021
Remaining UFAs wanting more than that will likely have to wait until after the draft. https://t.co/py1N0KUJFT
The fourth set of players to put out a statement saying they’ll skip voluntary spring work, the Lions join the Broncos, Buccaneers and Seahawks. https://t.co/KCq2pwbL9m
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) April 14, 2021
The @NFLPA while protecting their older/richer players from voluntary workouts are hurting their younger players if those guys want the reps/work/opportunities.
