The Washington Football Team has given Right Guard Brandon Scherff the franchise tag for the 2nd year in a row. This will give him an $18.04 million 1 year contract for the 2021 season. The team still has time to work put a long-term deal, something they have failed to do for the last 3 years.

WFT now has two options: Let Scherff play on the tag in 2021 for 120 percent of last season’s salary ($18.04 million) or work out a long-term deal by July 15.— Sam Fortier (@Sam4TR) March 9, 2021
If he plays on the tag, 4th-highest paid OL in NFL. If new deal, Wash could lower the cap hit w a bonus and incentives. https://t.co/F7wRtq6KMI
