Today at noon eastern time, starts the legal tampering period for free agents to begin negotiating contracts with teams. These deals can’t be finalized until Wednesday at 4:00, when the official start to the new year begins, but many of the big free agents will have deals in principle by that time.

The Washington Football Team currently has close to $40M in cap space(and the opportunity to create more if needed), which is plenty to make a few small splashes on the open market, and fill some key holes remaining on this squad.
