1. Sign a starter and let Heinicke and Allen compete to be backups.
— Eat Sleep WFT (@WFTTalk) March 13, 2021
2. Let Heinicke and Allen compete to be starter and draft a young QB to be backup.
That's his stance, based on his experience with Haskins/McCoy/Keenum.

Of course, this chart ignores Heinicke's 6 rushes for 46 yards , including 4 first-downs and a touchdown. When you include those, the picture becomes much clearer.

Most sacks in the league without stunts last season (@PFF):
— Sosa K (@QBsMVP) March 13, 2021
1. Eagles - 45
2. Rams - 41
3. Steelers - 38
4. Packers - 37
5. Football Squadron - 35
This is *surprising* to moi.
Usually, a pass rusher rushes straight ahead. A stunt is when two pass rusher, usually a DT and a DE, switch gaps on their pass rush to mess with pass protection schemes.

For everyone asking why @WashingtonNFL hasn’t cleared tens of millions like other teams have...these types of restructures create cap issues down the road. Save this year, pay in the future. The B&G have plenty of space, no need to hurt cap in future years.#washingtonfootball https://t.co/aLx4pBN4wD

Speaking to GM’s and coaches over last 24 hours, a name that continues to come up and is a guy who might have a fairly competitive market is UFA and former Lions first round pick LB Jarrad Davis.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) March 13, 2021
Matt Milano and Lavonte David are off the board. Davis viewed as a viable LB.
The #Giants and OT Nate Solder have agreed in principle to a reworked deal to return to New York, source said, as NYG locks in the experienced tackle. The two sides are working out the final details, but Solder is staying barring any last-minute hiccups.

#Chargers CB Casey Hayward to me on the phone just now on his release: "I’ve known for a couple of days. I know they were seeing if they could trade me, wanting to keep my salary the same. I’m definitely open to new possibilities now. I want to play at least a couple more years."

Cam Newton's contract with the #Patriots has a $5 million base value, according to sources:
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 12, 2021
$2m signing bonus
$1.5m base salary (guaranteed)
$1.5m total in per-game roster bonuses
The rest ($9m) is in incentives for playoffs, Pro Bowl, All-Pro, MVP, Super Bowl MVP, etc.
With the salary cap tight, the #Steelers are not able to tender RFA special teams ace & backup OLB Ola Adeniyi, source said. He’ll be a free agent.

The thing that bothers me the most about all these pro days, is there is no Standard Operating Procedure to truly compare performances. With guys I’ve worked with, there has been a different order and way every single one of these things have been conducted

Marvin Hagler was an absolute warrior. He won his first world title against a guy named Alan Minter who said he “did not intend to lose his title to a black man.” Hagler beat the guy so badly in three rounds he needed 15 stitches and surgery.
