Player Overview
Jevon Holland is one of the top safeties of this draft class. Holland became a starter as a true freshman and has moved around the secondary since alternating between both safety spots and lining up as a slot corner. Although he didn’t play against high-level competition, like Ohio State last season due to COVID-19, he’s a good athlete who can run with receivers He is also a decent(and willing) tackler against the run. Holland still projects to be a versatile secondary player lining up wherever needed, although he projects to be a free safety at the next level. Holland made PFF All-Pac-12 first team and AP All-Pac-12 All-Conference second team.

How He Fits on the Team
While Washington found a gem in Kamren Curl at strong safety, free safety has been a revolving door. Ron Rivera, Jack Del Rio, and company have experimented with Troy Apke, Jeremy Reaves, and others hoping to find a solid solution. Holland projects to be the ball hawk safety Washington needs. Holland has shown good skills and intangibles defending the pass and run. The strength of the defense lies in the defensive front, Washington can use a Day 2 selection to fortify the secondary with a versatile defender.
