Ron Rivera said he would be evaluating the roster, and it looks like he's starting at the bottom. The team's 16-man practice squad has seen a lot of turnover since the startof the season, and that continues as the team heads into the bye week with a 2-6 record. Yesterday the team announced they had released DT T.Y. McGill. He had a 2 week stint on the practice squad in 2019. McGill doubled that the time around, but is once again a free agent.

Washington worked out 4 players yesterday(G Zach Bailey, G Willie Wright, DB Natrell Jameson, RB Wendell Smallwood). The team announced today that two of the tryout players have been signed to the practice squad.
Wendell Smallwood makes his triumphant return to Washington after playing 15 games here in 2019. He had 22 carries for 81 yards and 9 catches for 64 yards. He spent time with the Steelers and Jaguars the last two seasons. Smallwood replaces Jonathan Williams who has been with the team all year, but is once again a free agent. Starting RB Antonio Gibson continues to deal with a stress fracture in his Shin that has limited him in practice and in games.
The other new addition is offensive guard Zack Bailey. He was an undrafted free agent from South Carolina who was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the 2019 NFL draft. He was on the Bucs and Vikings practice squads last year. Washington continues to deal with multiple injuries on the offensive line, and two of their practice squad OL(David Steinmetz, Keith Ismael) have exhausted their two free game day callups.
• Started 38 games and played in 46 in his South Carolina career (2015-18), getting the start in 27 games at LG, 8 at RT and 3 at C.
• Earned 2nd-Team All-SEC by coaches and media as a senior.
• Starter at LG as a senior before suffering broken leg in season finale, missing team’s bowl game and East-West Shrine game.
• Starter at RT as a junior in 2017, opening 8 games.
• Started all 13 games in 2016 at LG after making 5 starts as a true freshman, 3 at C and 2 at LG.
