TE Logan Thomas
The Washington Football Team has signed the following player:
TE Jace Sternberger
Week-to-week has turned into out at least 4 weeks. Logan Thomas suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. He was visibly frustrated, and threw his helmet when he went to the sidelines. He knew something was wrong, but we didn’t know how wrong until he got checked.
The initial reports said his injury was week-to-week, but Ron Rivera said on Monday that 4th-string TE Sammis Reyes would be active this week for Washington’s home game against the New Orleans Saints. The team has decided to place him on short-term IR, and according to Ian Rapoport, he will be out for at least 4 weeks. Washington has 4 games before their Week 9 byes, so Thomas could be out until Week 10 when they host the Buccaneers.
Washington has 3 TEs on the active roster now(Ricky Seals-Jones, John Bates, Sammis Reyes), but they are also signing Jace Sternberger with Thomas out. He was on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad after being released in August by the Packers. Green Bay drafted him in the 3rd round in 2019. He has 12 receptions for 114 yards and 1 TD, all from last season.
Former #Packers TE Jace Sternberger is headed to the WFT 53-man roster, while Logan Thomas goes to Injured Reserve, source said. He’s out at least 4 weeks. https://t.co/sK1BkHBqVT
