DeAndre Carter has looked ready to break a big return all season. He has a different style than we've seen in Washington recently. He keeps it moving upfield and makes people miss on his way.
That big one broke in a big way on Sunday when the team really needed it. Washington was down 17-13 going into the 2nd half. They were getting the ball back and needed a spark to get the lead away from the home team.
DeAndre Carter caught the kickoff a yard into the end zone and took off, not looking back until he was in the clear for the score. He got a great block on the way from rookie TE John Bates, and made several Falcons simply miss him.
This was Washington's first kickoff return for a TD since Steven Sims Jr. in 2019. The 101-yard kickoff return TD ties the franchise record shared with Rashad Ross from his return vs the Giants in 2015. Carter returned 3 kickoffs on Sunday for a total of 152 yards.
