Our opponents for the 2021 season are officially finalized!
— Washington Football Team (@WashingtonNFL) January 11, 2021
As some people are asking, I'll add that I don't think they should consider Heinicke as the outright starter for next season just because of this performance. It was very good, it merits a spot on the team absolutely, but they should still be aggressive in targeting QB1
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) January 11, 2021
Second video is OUT! Looked at Taylor Heinicke and his incredible performance against the Bucs.

▶️ Anticipation
▶️ Accuracy on all 3 levels
▶️ Improvisational ability
Looked at what #WashingtonFootball should do with him this off-season!

If you are cool with a Minshew trade then you’re probably cool with a Nick Mullins trade, yea? Maybe a Trubisky signing? This is the level of quarterback play we are talking about here. I saw a number of people reply below that tweet saying they’re cool with him as QB1.

.@WashingtonNFL #NFL @youngchase907 to all the fans of #BaldysBreakdowns...I am putting a season in review of the #Predator. Warning you now. I ❤️ watching this kid play. Getting me emotional. Going to get you UP and out the door. I gon run thru a wall. #BaldysBreakdowns

We're up to five known candidates for the GM position... https://t.co/UPwKDv1g8Q
— Breaking Burgundy (@breakburgundy) January 16, 2021
The WFT will interview Eric Stokes for their open GM position. Smart idea. Strong internal candidate as they reshape their football operations department
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) January 15, 2021
Even though we haven't heard about a request for permission -- that could be out of respect to the #Bills playoff chase -- this is a guy worth waiting for (at least to talk to) if you're the #WashingtonFootball crew#BillsMafia https://t.co/K3PYuNkJGo

@whoisjwright tells Grant and Danny that GM responsibilities vary from team to team and that Rivera doesn't look for 'yes men'. He wants someone to challenge his thinking. People who are fantastic leaders and build great culture around them.#WashingtonFootball

One thing of note in the GM situation. Told earlier these men have not yet been contacted: Joe Schoen and Morocco Brown. Both would make sense if looking outside. Brown was respected when here; still has fans in the org. Has been with Colts. Schoen part of Buffalo success.
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 15, 2021
Related: I've also wondered if Kyle Smith reunited with Morocco Brown, if he left WFT
— T M (@reshmanuel) January 15, 2021
Yep
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 15, 2021
It could yes.
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 15, 2021
"There are many Washington fans ready to freak out about the prospect of losing Kyle Smith. That's the definition of Ashburn Syndrome." Hear, hear! KS hasn't had enough power, or a clear enough role, for enough time, for any fan to feel sure he's indispensable.
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) January 15, 2021
If you had told me at the start of the season we’d win the division, sweep the Cowboys & Eagles, ruin the Steelers perfect season, *and* we look promising af for 2021?
— RIVERA SZN (@HeartbreakCtyDC) January 14, 2021
I’d sign up for that.
Kerrigan says he’s not closing the door on Washington by any means, but will weigh his options in free agency and make the best decision for his family.

#Alabama LB Dylan Moses announces that he’s entering the 2021 #NFLDraft. It will be interesting to see where he stacks up in this LB class.
— Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) January 15, 2021
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Jaycee Horn was the best cornerback from the 2021 NFL Draft class when it's all said and done.
— Matt Valdovinos (@MVScouting) January 14, 2021
Some #NFLDraft WR comparisons:
— Brad Kelly (@BradKelly17) January 14, 2021
Ja’Marr Chase - Justin Blackmon
DeVonta Smith - Keenan McCardell
Jaylen Waddle - T.Y. Hilton
Rashod Bateman - Corey Davis
Kadarius Toney - Randall Cobb
Chris Olave - Adam Thielen
Elijah Moore - Jeremy Kerley
Sage Surratt - Michael Floyd
Obviously Saleh is going to talk up Darnold now as he’s the only QB on the team, but would be shocked if he’s not traded before the start of the season. No long term value on his contract and he’s too inaccurate to build around for 2021.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) January 15, 2021
The other thing to keep in mind: If there is a QB worth taking at #2, the Jets will take him rather than trade the pick because no team is more in need of a franchise QB than the Jets. There isn't a team that would benefit more from adding a star QB than the Jets.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) January 15, 2021
Last year I had to survey a dozen+ players that played for Coach Saleh on behalf of an organization.
— Hawk (@Hawk) January 15, 2021
I don’t know if I’ve ever heard players go to bat for a coach the way EVERY SINGLE ONE of them did for Saleh.
Congrats to the Jets
#49ers passing game coordinator Mike LaFleur, brother of Matt, is expected to join Robert Saleh with the #Jets. He will be the OC, per @AdamSchefter. The 34-year old was a valuable assistant with Kyle Shanahan.
— NFL Update (@MySportsUpdate) January 15, 2021
I have to be honest. I like the Jets HC hire better than the Jags.
— Rod BLuhM #D4L (@CLERodB) January 15, 2021
Urban Meyer might be a slam dunk HC hire but the @Jaguars need to cast a wide net outside the organization for the right GM hire. The right person for that job is not currently in Jacksonville.
— Jim Nagy (@JimNagy_SB) January 15, 2021
Urban Meyer speaks out as the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.#DUUUVAL

Dwayne as the back-up in Jacksonville makes a lot of sense. Urban always spoke highly of him.
— Matt Valdovinos (@MVScouting) January 14, 2021
Since we just saw Tua's rookie year and there's now a baseline for Alabama QBs going from that system and supporting cast to the NFL...do y'all hold the talent around Mac Jones against him as a prospect? Inevitably some people will...
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) January 12, 2021
Just curious what you guys think.
I've never seen a player make the media rounds after getting blown out & embarrassed before. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him. https://t.co/fxVKHEqCGO

We have agreed to terms with Arthur Smith to become our next head coach.
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) January 15, 2021
Arthur Smith is the son of Fred Smith, FedEx CEO and, more significantly for the locals, one of the WFT minority owners in the midst of legal fights with Dan Snyder.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) January 15, 2021
As @michaelpRTD reminds us, Washington and Atlanta play in 2021. There's your annual revenge game. https://t.co/KrRQ277HLc
I love the Arthur Smith hire for the Falcons. He marries the run and pass games well as a play-designer and caller. His play-action stuff works so well because of it. Kevin Stefanski was that way. Similar guys I think.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) January 15, 2021
Not sure if Atlanta is the best opening but I dig the hire.
Arthur Smith was a defensive quality control coach for Washington from 2007-2008 under Joe Gibbs. https://t.co/6kmmd4Re26
— Jake Russell (@_JakeRussell) January 15, 2021
Three new NFL coaches have now been hired since yesterday: Urban Meyer by the Jaguars, Robert Saleh by the Jets, Arthur Smith by the Falcons. The Texans, Lions, Chargers and Eagles continue to look.
