As some people are asking, I'll add that I don't think they should consider Heinicke as the outright starter for next season just because of this performance. It was very good, it merits a spot on the team absolutely, but they should still be aggressive in targeting QB1

If you are cool with a Minshew trade then you’re probably cool with a Nick Mullins trade, yea? Maybe a Trubisky signing? This is the level of quarterback play we are talking about here. I saw a number of people reply below that tweet saying they’re cool with him as QB1.

One thing of note in the GM situation. Told earlier these men have not yet been contacted: Joe Schoen and Morocco Brown. Both would make sense if looking outside. Brown was respected when here; still has fans in the org. Has been with Colts. Schoen part of Buffalo success.

Obviously Saleh is going to talk up Darnold now as he’s the only QB on the team, but would be shocked if he’s not traded before the start of the season. No long term value on his contract and he’s too inaccurate to build around for 2021.

The other thing to keep in mind: If there is a QB worth taking at #2, the Jets will take him rather than trade the pick because no team is more in need of a franchise QB than the Jets. There isn't a team that would benefit more from adding a star QB than the Jets.

Last year I had to survey a dozen+ players that played for Coach Saleh on behalf of an organization.

I don’t know if I’ve ever heard players go to bat for a coach the way EVERY SINGLE ONE of them did for Saleh.

I love the Arthur Smith hire for the Falcons. He marries the run and pass games well as a play-designer and caller. His play-action stuff works so well because of it. Kevin Stefanski was that way. Similar guys I think.
