Guys and gals - first, sorry for getting this out late this week. We had some stuff going on. That being said, at least it’s out.
In what you all know was a rough, sloppy, turnover-filled game, the Redskins loss to the Browns showed us all what we thought we already knew - that we are NOT a good football team; nor are the Eagles who we beat week one.
No one should be surprised by the record, and I think we can probably all agree that things are going to get a bit worse before they get better.
Below are some cut-ups of the game and some comments about the plays that are highlighted.
Dwayne Haskins Jr. - This was an abysmal game for the second year quarterback who now has 10 games started on his professional resume. Like I have said before, we need to see progression from the start of the season to the end of it from him, and Sunday’s game was a large step backwards.
Some of his misses were simply high-schoolish, but when he sets his feet, has a clean pocket and trusts those around him, he shows promise.
The bad:
How in the HELL do you miss Inman here crossing the face of the safety!

You put this ball between the hash and numbers and it’s a big gain #All-22 pic.twitter.com/3nUhazcImq
Look at this Cloud Zone here by the Browns.

Terrible read, stare-down and decision by Haskins ☹️
Gotta learn from this...#All-22 pic.twitter.com/tamLomoy73
If this isn’t staring down your WR, I don’t know what is. If you look off that LB the route is open.

Notice Christian getting absolutely bum-rushed on the edge #All-22 pic.twitter.com/FjBbZWRgyJ
I understand this is NOT good protection by Christian...but man, you gotta hit Terry here!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/4ZZABUUGz1
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 30, 2020
The good:
Haskins had a VERY rough game against the Browns, but this is what he can do if you give him a clean pocket.
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 30, 2020
Gets to his third read and throws a strike!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/JTn3FCiEWV
Morgan Moses - Moses has been a pleasant surprise this season. He came into camp healthy and down about 20 pounds - and it shows in his play. He’s also taken on a Trent Williams’ like demeanor.
In the clip below, you see Moses keep two defenders at bay!
I U Morgan Moses #All-22 pic.twitter.com/7DWCN4ZfSo

Geron Christian Sr. - Christian has certainly taken his lumps early this season, and just when you think he’s showing signs of improvement, he goes and lays a complete egg.
Christian loses his balance here and gives up pressure. This has been a reoccurring theme for him early in this young season. pic.twitter.com/diAnJD7X0m
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
I get it - Myles Garrett is good, and coming from a wide-9 makes blocking him even more difficult...
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
But man, we NEED better effort here by Christian. #All-22 pic.twitter.com/qF625oZIQ2
Christian has to do better than this! This is not that hard of a twist to pick up...#All-22 pic.twitter.com/cTt5w3WzkY

Wes Schweitzer - Schweitzer has stepped in for the injured Brandon Scherff, and aside from a few communication issues, has done a pretty decent job.
Nice block here by big Wes Schweitzer!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/XhbYS4zIgR
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Wes Martin - I understand our offensive line has not been very good this year, but Wes Martin continues to really struggle. At this point, he’s just not getting it, and I have my doubts he ever will.
I’m not an offensive line coach, but what is Wes Martin doing here?
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Play through the inside shoulder of your tandem block and get to the second level!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/fI5ljZgq5x
This is on Wes Martin. There is a gap defender to the play-side. You AT LEAST have to pop his right shoulder with your near arm to help slow him down. Martin doesn’t even touch him ♂️ pic.twitter.com/H1Tx31fehy
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Damn it Wes Martin - BLOCK!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/ltEvt8OSTC

Terry McLaurin - It’s very easy to see that we have a special talent in Terry McLaurin. Below you see the phantom offensive pass interference call against F1.
For what it’s worth, this, in my opinion, was a HUGE turning point in the game.
NOT EVEN CLOSE to offensive pass interference on McLaurin @NFLOfficiating
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 30, 2020
I hate to say it, but this blatantly wrong call may have changed the game.#All-22 pic.twitter.com/le6sq7EHPt
Antonio Gandy-Golden - AGG is just a rookie, and he’s very raw, but you see glimpses in his game...and then you see the rawness.
AGG doesn’t look like a 4.6 guy here . But WOW! What a shot here at the end pic.twitter.com/X9AEsnAzhL
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Absolutely love the play call and design here.
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
The rookie AGG NEEDS to make this catch!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/bzFVhi8R8R
Logan Thomas - Count me as one who has not at all been impressed with Logan Thomas...
Complete “business decision” here by Logan Thomas.
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
EMBARRASSING #All-22 pic.twitter.com/ZPBzSnQeUF
Tim Settle - The big fella is quietly having himself a nice start to the season. As unfortunate as Matt Ioannidis’ injury is, it should give Settle more chances to shine.
When I said in my Studs and Duds article that Tim Settle had a good game, I wasn’t lying!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/jYepFrKZEP
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 30, 2020
Montez Sweat - When rookie Chase Young left the game with a groin injury, all eyes were on Montez Sweat - and the second year EDGE did not disappoint!
Goodness is Sweat fast!
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 30, 2020
Again, he knows he has support outside, so he can just pin his ears back and go get the football. #All-22 pic.twitter.com/TbpZiaDWUF
This is a sack by Sweat. I get why Rivera didn’t challenge it...but still a sack.#All-22 pic.twitter.com/UVMYcfOezA
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Hell of a job here by Sweat, knowing he has LB help to his side. Blows up Hunt for a loss of 1. #All-22 pic.twitter.com/ujQXxZ4nK9
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Troy Apke - Apke’s season keeps getting worse. One week it’s blown coverage, the next it’s poor recognition and angles...but it’s ALWAYS tackling!
As a starting NFL safety, how can your tackling be this bad? Apke actually misses him twice!
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
As a coach, how can you keep defending this player?#All-22 pic.twitter.com/DUicuV4ccp
I get the miss by Kerrigan, but DAMN Apke, get your ass downhill, stop dropping your head, and for goodness sakes - MAKE A PLAY!#All-22 pic.twitter.com/4No8aaZ5sR
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) September 29, 2020
Landon Collins - Collins has had an up and down start to the season - but whatever this was, it was NOT good!
Remind me how much we are paying Landon Collins again ♂️ ♂️ ♂️ pic.twitter.com/uZeoKoYtU1
