Officially Official

"That's disappointing," head coach Ron Rivera said. "He started so strong for us. He's such a physical player, he's a huge presence in the middle, so we're going to miss him." https://t.co/8wxATWEiwo
The Washington Football Team suffered a huge loss on Sunday, and not the one that showed up on the Browns scoreboard. Matt Ioannidis left the game with an arm injury. After it was tested, it was determined he had a torn biceps and his season is over. Ioannidis is one of the most underrated pass rushers in the NFL and hurts Washington's biggest strength, their defensive line. Now Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and Tim Settle will be a 3-man rotation at DT.
Washington is not signing a free agent DT to add to that rotation, instead they are going to their practice squad to sign a familiar face. DE Nate Orchard was signed on 11/27 last year and 4 days later he had a great game against the Carolina Panthers. He had a sack, 4 tackles, and a fumble recovery to help Washington get one of their three victories last season. This was also Ron Rivera's last game as head coach of the Panthers before getting fired.
Washington also had another significant injury on Sunday. Chase Young was ruled out with a groin injury, and we are still waiting to hear if he will miss any time. Ian Rapoport said it wasn't a major injury, and it was reported later that he was going for an MRI. Orchard can provide depth if needed there.
The Washington Football Team is signing veteran DE Nate Orchard to the active roster from the practice squad, source said.

DE Nate Orchard's signing comes with Matt Ioannidis expected to land on IR today. There's also uncertainty w/ Chase Young's groin injury. Reported Sunday its not considered serious per source, but we've seen Ron Rivera's cautious side dealing with even the threat of injury.
