Washington Injury Update: Matt Ioannidis has torn biceps, done for the year

Not good

NFL: Washington Football Team at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Ioannidis was injured during yesterday's loss to the Browns. He was taken to the locker room and quickly ruled out with an arm injury. Ioannidis was seen on the sidelines with trainers get ice applied to his injured arm, and having it placed in a sling.

Ron Rivera didn't provide any updates on Ioannidis, or yesterday's other big injury Chase Young, in this morning's presser. But we got an update from Kevin Sheehan and it is not good for Ioannidis or the Washington Football Team. Sheehan heard that Ioannidis suffered a torn biceps and could possibly miss the rest of the season. Mike Garafolo confirmed the torn bicep and said he would indeed miss the final 13 games of the year.

Washington will need to sign someone to replace Ioannidis on the roater and in the defensive tackle rotation which right now is Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and Tim Settle. There are no DTs on Washington's practice squad, so if they are looking to add one it will have to be a street free agent or someone from another team's practice squad.

A quick look at available veterans shows Marcell Dareus, Corey Liuget, Sylvester Williams, Damon Harrison Sr., and Kyle Love. Ron Rivera is very familiar with Kyle Love who played for the Panthers from 2014-2019. He is 33, but played 37% of the snaps on defense for Carolina last year.
