The Washington Football Team announced yesterday that they are elevating two players from the practice squad again this week. LB Jared Norris and OL Joshua Garnett will be available for today’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Norris was elevated last week for their game against the Arizona Cardinals, and he played 20 snaps on special teams. Cole Holcomb has been out for the last two weeks with a knee injury and Norris has been his replacement. This is the second time Norris has been elevated from the practice squad. If Washington wants him to be available to play again they will have to sign him to their 53-man roster and make a corresponding move. This happened with Cam Sims who was elevated for the first two games, then signed to the main roster after Brandon Scherff was placed on injured reserve.
That brings us to the other practice squad elevation for the week. With Scherff on IR, and Saadhiq Charles already ruled out, Washington is down two offensive linemen.. Joshua Garnett was elevated, and he will be available for guard depth today. Garnett was a 1st round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 who dealt with injuries. He now has a second chance with Washington.
