The Washington Football Team has released WR Cody Latimer

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Giants Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Football Team has moved on from WR Cody Latimer who was arrested in May on assault and firearms charges. Details emerged after the arrest that Latimer was reacting to something that happened to his 4 year-old son. Ron Rivera didn’t release him right away, but Latimer was placed on the NFL Commissioner’s Exempt List on July 27th. Now the team has made it official and released Latimer.

Washington signed a veteran WR in Dontrelle Inman on August 4th, and he has been getting plenty of action early at training camp. The team also lost two young receivers who were injured while working out on their own this offseason. Emmanuel Hall tore his Achilles, and Kelvin Harmon tore his ACL. Harmon was set to have a bigger role this season.
