Ryan Anderson is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and he sounds pretty happy with the new coaching staff, and defensive scheme. He would run through a wall for new Head Coach Ron Rivera, and he loves Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio’s attacking defense. Anderson will be switching to a defensive end with DL Coach Sam Mills III in the Washington Football Team’s new 4-3 defense.
Anderson has been dealing with a wrist injury that has held him out of the last few practices. He is waiting for a brace before he can be cleared to return to the field.

Says he wants to "rumble" @WSHFootballSI @theMMQB @1067theFan @LockedWFTPod
Anderson said he has been with the D-Line for a while now. This time on the field has been important for him because he is able to physically go through the plays he learned during the virtual offseason.

Anderson said he has more freedom working as a defensive lineman. He doesn't have to think too much about presnap reads. He just gets to attack.

Wrist injury:
Anderson said he had been dealing with a wrist injury, which kept him out of practice. He was waiting for a brace before being cleared.

Jack Del Rio:
Anderson said he loves Jack Del Rio and his system. There's a lot of freedom in the scheme, and it's an "attacking, physical" system. It allows him to be aggressive, and he likes that.

Ron Rivera:
Ryan Anderson on Ron Rivera. "He's definitely a player's coach. I like him, I trust him and I'd run through a wall for him."
— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) August 20, 2020
Anderson said Ron Rivera has done an "excellent job" as a coach. He's been open and honest with the players, and Anderson said he would "run through a wall" for Rivera.

Reuben Foster:
A healthy Reuben Foster is the best player Anderson ever played with. He called Foster's recovery incredible and he isn't "far off" from being an elite player.

Fumbles:
Anderson is skilled at getting stripped fumbles. There's no added skill to it, he said, he's just an opportunist. He knows you can play a long time in the NFL if you can get the ball away from quarterbacks.
