Reuben Foster spoke to the media for the first time since being claimed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers two years ago. He talked about getting back on the field for the first time after tearing his ACL during last year's OTAs. It has been a long recovery process, and it has been weird returning to the field after nearly two years.
Foster's teammates from Alabama have helped him deal with the injury, and also his off the field issues. He says he has learned from his mistakes, realizes how close he was to losing it all, and has been humbled.

Foster takeaways. He is unsure of what's to come, particularly with the knee. Based on what he's been through the last year +, I get it. Mentioned the need to gain confidence in the knee and didn't make any brash claims other than to say the D "got this" even with not 100% yet.

Reuben Foster on what he learned from his legal issues. Said he learned a lot, but wants to look forward rather than back. Mentions learning to cook. Ok. Also said keeping his blinders on to stay focus.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 14, 2020
Foster said he has been cooking salmon, ribs, lamb and some swordfish (that's the go to). He eats it about five times a week, which is completely understandable, given how amazing swordfish is.
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) August 14, 2020
Public perception:
Reuben Foster was asked if the public perception of him when he was claimed by Washington was accurate: "To know Reuben is to love Reuben. That's all I have to say."

— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) August 14, 2020
Foster on Rivera. Says he trusts the coach a lot. Straightforward. Plus they've got a position bond with Rivera’s LB past.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 14, 2020
Foster describes head coach Ron Rivera as a hard-nosed, stand-up guy who does not play favorites. Also mentioned how both play(ed) LB and love to play football.
