Happy Birthday Redskins!

New, comments

On this day in 1932, the Washington Redskins’ franchise as we know it today was born as the Boston Braves. The Braves played just one season with that name before changing to the Boston Redskins in 1933.

In 1937, the Redskins relocated to Washington, D.C. - and became the Washington Redskins. During their inaugural season in our Nation’s Capital, the Redskins won their first division title and first league championship.

So, in what could be a significant year in the team’s proud history with an anticipated name change on the horizon, I thought it only fitting to recognize the team’s original origins and wish our proud and storied franchise a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Washington REDSKINS!
