NBC Washington's JP Finlay is reporting that the Washington Redskins will host the Philadelphia Eagles to open the 2020 season. This is somewhat surprising because we have been getting reports about the league scheduling division and conference games for later in the season. The idea was to hold AFC vs NFC games early in the year in case some of the season had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Redskins will open the season at home against the Eagles, per source. NFC East battle right out of the gate in Week 1.

This is the first leak for the Redskins schedule but there are likely to be several more before the team announce theirs officially at 7:30pm tonight. The NFL will officially release the entire schedule at 8 pm as part of their 3 hour release program. The Redskins will be hosting a live program featuring Head Coach Ron Rivera and several celebrities to talk about the schedule.
