Very sad news: Dolphins Hall of Fame coach Don Shula passed away this morning at age 90, one of his children confirmed.
— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) May 4, 2020
Don Shula
— ProFootballReference (@pfref) May 4, 2020
328 wins (most in NFL history)
172 games over .500 (most in NFL history)
19 playoffs wins (3rd most in NFL history)
6 conference titles (2nd most in Super Bowl era)
17-0 season in 1972 (only perfect season in NFL history)
RIP https://t.co/c8zWfMTfZL
It's staggering how far ahead Don Shula is as the all-time winningest NFL coach.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) May 4, 2020
He's got 347. Belichick could average 10 wins/yr plus a playoff win per year for the next four years and STILL be short. BB's had 20 straight winning years + another HC stint! (h/t @CharlesRobinson)
Really interesting insight on the Trent Williams trade conversations before the draft between #49ers GM John Lynch and #Redskins head coach Ron Rivera. (via @AlbertBreer) https://t.co/2tnc1lUwHJ pic.twitter.com/VtbsFRSZK7

Gonna spend a few hours working up some stuff on Don Shula, because how can you not? #Dolphins #Colts #NFL #Browns #Redskins (yes, he played one year, his final season, in Washington -- 1957).
— Dan Daly (@dandalyonsports) May 4, 2020
Will another guy intercept 21 passes & win 347 games as an #NFL coach? I think not.
Sad news from the football world.
— Jake Russell (@_JakeRussell) May 4, 2020
Shula spent 1957 as a defensive back with the Redskins. https://t.co/foyZhILdrt pic.twitter.com/whXb27HEDS
Larry Csonka on Don Shula's passing: "If they ship the football players off and the coaches off to a certain place, wherever that place is, tonight there is going to be one hell of a lightning bolt hit it because Shula is going to arrive and things are going to change."
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) May 5, 2020

Scheme to learn for #Redskins fans. Scott Turner and the Panthers used this a fair bit last year and show up in this cut up a few times. https://t.co/B6Wi0DxKag
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) May 4, 2020
They’re schemes with moving pieces to surprise defenders with blockers they weren’t expecting. Here’s an example The defensive tackle is expecting a double team from RG Scherff and RT Moses, but both fake the block. LG pulls and blocks him instead. https://t.co/LOTqAu7xMO https://t.co/t7wKUUWxtW
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) May 4, 2020
No problem! In my clip, it was the LG that did the wham/trap block, but it can be anyone really. A lot of teams will use a tight end motioning in to allow their better blockers to work on other bodies. Watch the original cut ups and you’ll see a lot of different ways to do it

5th year options in the @NFL this year:
— Mike Tannenbaum (@RealTannenbaum) May 5, 2020
17 accepted
13 declined
1 extension
1 release
Just because a team does not exercise the 5th year option does not mean that the player can’t/won’t return to their team (for example: Kyle Fuller & @markingram21)

To make room on their roster for Andy Dalton, the Cowboys waived QB Cooper Rush.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) May 4, 2020
The #Cowboys waived QB Cooper Rush & officially signed backup QB Andy Dalton to his 1-year, $3M deal. His $4M available in incentives are broken up into regular season playing time, making the playoffs & playing time in the playoffs. If he simply backs up 16 games, he makes $3M.

Two teams tell @AlbertBreer that playing without fans could mean clubs lose $100 million apiece. So would they rather start in November with fans than September without?
