Washington Redskins Head Coach Ron Rivera spoke to Larry Michael after selecting Ohio State DE Chase Young with the #2 overall pick. There were immediately technical difficulties trying to communicate with Rivera. Rivera is very excited to get the best player in the draft, and a big boost for his defense. There were trade offers for the #2 pick, but nothing that was enough to get them to pass on a talent like Young. They liked other players at the top of the draft, but Young stood out from the rest. Rivera would like to get back into the 2nd round if it’s possible, if not the Redskins will have to wait until the 2nd pick of the 3rd round(#66) tomorrow night.

Defensive line:
Rivera on Redskins' d-line: "We saw the success San Fransico had last year with that type of a front. That type of front helps the rest of the team. It helps the linebackers, helps the secondary. And again, one of the things we want to make sure we do is we play fast."
