All atwitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

The #Redskins have granted Trent Williams permission to seek a trade, as @diannaESPN said. Source says the team gave the green light today. A situation to continue watching.

Taylor on Trent Williams (2/2): "This isn't about a contract, but time for a change of scenery." #Redskins @TheAthleticDC
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) March 5, 2020
The obvious, tragic addendum to this tweet is that Sean Taylor would’ve been #1 if he wasn’t taken from us. Damn that dude was so good.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 6, 2020
I know fans will look at the Trent Williams situation & see however they want. fair. I always liked how professional he was with us & how he grew in his time here. Both sides have their beliefs in this situation. Not choosing sides by any means. But will miss dealing with him.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 5, 2020
Don't know what #Redskins can get for Trent now. (I'd hold out for at least a 2nd.) Regardless, letting him seek a trade is exactly the right move in this awkward situation, as Rivera's continues to manage the inherited roster smartly.

From Trent Williams via text: "I'm just happy this situation seems to be heading towards an end."

thanks, but i'll go by what my editors want if that's OK with you considering I write for a national site and not just J.C.P. So, no, I can't move on until a deal is done. Not how this works (and if you think it's fun having to monitor this every day 24/7? no, it isn't).

Interesting ...
— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) March 5, 2020
Harmon starting is a testament to an incredible lack of depth in Washington. Anytime a team starts 3 rookie WRs there is a problem. Still rooting for KH to be the exception to the rule though. https://t.co/hgheG6Adek
— Nathan Coleman (@JHawkChalk_) March 4, 2020
This talk about the Redskins taking Tua is ridiculous. From a football aspect Chase Young is the best prospect, at a pivotal position. Business wise, why pay 2 QB’s 1st round salaries. And if you know Dan Snyder, he signed off on drafting Haskins, a new coach won’t override that. https://t.co/FrwHsrFvWB
— Adam Carriker (@AdamCarriker94) March 4, 2020
Appreciate the plug. To be clear I did say I heard multiple things on him. What I know for sure is the Bama guys reached out. And my guess is now he’ll stay in Dallas. The league expectation was around Bradberry. Thanks RT
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 4, 2020
.@MSU_Football @kennyw97 is a great prospect with possibly the largest arsenal of pass rush moves. I think his game translates well to the @NFL and am anxious to watch him at the next level. Remember the name; he won’t disappoint. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/W2jIfYz5nr

I've studied a lot of players so far this winter. The most impressive names aren't that surprising - Young, Burrow, Wills, Okudah, etc...but do you know who impressed me more than almost anyone else? Kayvon Thibodeaux.

There are four candidates for OT1 in this year’s NFL Draft. And although Mekhi Becton is the latest riser, he has maybe the best foundation.
— Ian Cummings (@ian_cummings_9) March 5, 2020
Here’s more of my thoughts on Becton’s case. What do you think? https://t.co/qimKRttD9C
This is a fantastic story, if only so we can find out what a trade for Al Michaels would go for. If football teams can trade players, why can’t other businesses? Really opens the door... https://t.co/vcHnuyuvTH

The #Eagles are expected to let Jason Peters hit the free agent market, sources say. After 11 years with the team, the nine-time Pro Bowl selection could be headed elsewhere, though the parties will remain in contact.

— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) March 5, 2020
Sounds like the kind of person Ron Rivera would want in Washington if the Trent Williams situation doesn’t work out. That being said, would have to imagine Peters would get better opportunities https://t.co/0hO0LEMtQU

Here is the full, 456-page CBA that the NFLPA distributed to players this morning for a vote on ratification: https://t.co/5w0r5iWdXl
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 5, 2020
Voting for CBA will begin today. It is important everybody votes and gets their voice heard. Before you decide whether you’re for or against it, read up on it and talk with myself or any of your fellow teammates
— Brandon McManus (@thekidmcmanus) March 5, 2020
There are currently no plans to change the tag deadline or the start of free agency based on the timing of players' vote to ratify the new CBA, per source.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 5, 2020
In fact, Page 68 of the proposed CBA says: "The 2020 League Year shall begin on March 18, 2020 at 4:00pm New York time."
2. A Compensatory Free Agent (CFA) must now be "ranked within the top 35% of all League players".
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
That's a big change. Previously, the qualification threshold there was 50%.
4. Per game roster bonuses "shall count in full". I had suspicions that they weren't consistently counted in the old formula, so it's not surprising to see that, and it makes life easier for me.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
6. The only postseason honors counted are 1st team AP All Pro, and All NFL or All Conference by the PFWA.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
The Pro Bowl does *not* count, something else that I had suspected for a while.
Postseason honors are also a very small factor of the formula.
8. The "net value" compensatory pick calculation is described in Section 5. A bit complicated to talk about within 280 characters but that's a part of the formula I was never able to figure out.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
10. Players who sign Veteran Salary Benefit (f/k/a Minimum Salary Benefit) deals will automatically be disqualified from becoming CFAs.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
The new 35% qualification threshold will likely disqualify those players anyway, though.
12. And that's all for the my first reading!
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
Redskins would have qualified for 3 comp picks if the new CBA had been in force. Oh well... https://t.co/O84nYF2pAu
— Bill-in-Bangkok (@billhorgan2005) March 6, 2020
The picks that would be removed:
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
--MIA's 4th for losing Ju'Wuan James
--CHI's 4th for losing Adrian Amos
--SEA's 6th for losing Shamar Stephen
--7th rounders to HOU x 2, MIA, DEN x 2, MIN x 2, & NYG
WAS & DAL would also pick up 7ths for losing Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix & Geoff Swaim

— Pro Football Rumors (@pfrumors) March 5, 2020
The NFL has no plans at this point to change the tag window, which runs through 4 p.m. ET on March 12. Player voting on the CBA runs through 11:59 p.m. on March 12. That's significant because teams can use one tag if the CBA is ratified and two tags if it's not.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) March 5, 2020
Per sources, from now until next Thursday, the NFL will be operating under the '11 CBA rules -- which means, under the Final League Year rules, teams can tag two guys (one franchise, one transition).
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) March 5, 2020
If the new CBA passes, teams that do that will have to rescind one of the tags.
One other important point on players voting on the proposed CBA: A simple majority decides this. So whether 100 players vote or 1,000, ratification requires one more yes vote than no vote, and vice versa. Every vote counts, with a lot at stake for everyone thru 2030.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 5, 2020
Having no quorum requirement could very well be an advantage to the vested vets who are most outspoken against this CBA. They might be more motivated to cast a vote than the low level players. https://t.co/5A1co6ijHX
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 5, 2020
Ballots will go out to players at 9 a.m. ET today to vote on ratification of the proposed CBA and voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. ET next Thursday, March 12, per source.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 5, 2020
At most, 20-25 players per team know that they will have a job and make their full salary in the next season. The rest are fighting for jobs. For those guys, the question of a 17th game is irrelevant; they're just trying to play in one.

Thailand threw possibly tens of thousands of holiday plans into confusion after Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul ordered any new arrivals from nine countries and two territories to undergo quarantine for the coronavirus, before swiftly reversing the decision.

To allay Thai public concern over COVID-19 being spread by Thai workers returning from South Korea, Prayuth confirmed today that all the returnees, from the cities of Daegu and Gyeongsang, will be quarantined, for a mandatory 14 days. Korean tourist will NOT be quarantined
