The Redskins aren't done in free agency. They have reportedly signed RB Peyton Barber to a 2-year, $3 million deal ($600k guaranteed). They had already signed RB J.D. McKissic, and this is their 9th free agent signing from another team.
The Redskins aren't expected to re-sign RBs Chris Thompson or Wendell Smallwood. They exercised the team option on Adrian Peterson this year. They also have two RBs coming back from surgeries last season in Derrius Guice and Bryce Love. Barber doesn't have much guaranteed money, and looks like a backup plan for now.
Hmmm. This is the first signing of Washington's offseason where the roster ramifications are super curious. Not big $$, but Barber has a role in this league. https://t.co/k3xkPS7cUS

Peyton Barber to the Redskins on a two-year deal, per source. Bucs’ 2018 leading rusher enters Washington fray.

Barber (5’11”, 225 lbs) was an undrafted free agent from Auburn that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed in 2016. He has spent the past 4 seasons with them.
