The Redskins have a big need at tight end going into this season after the release of Jordan Reed, and the retirement of Vernon Davis. They were reportedly interested in top free agent Austin Hooper, but he signed with the Cleveland Browns. Hunter Henry was another option before the Chargers franchised him.
The Redskins have expressed interest in TE Delanie Walker. So, too, have the Colts and the Packers, per source. Not sure anything happens fast, but those are the teams who have expressed some level of interest.

Now we get to the second level of TE options as free agency is set to officially open in 2 hours. Delanie Walker turns 36 this year, and is going into his 15th season in the NFL. The Tennessee Titans released him last week after 7 seasons with the team. Walker has made the Pro Bowl 3 times, last appearing in 2018 where he won the offensive MVP award.
Ankle injuries have shut him down the last few years, and many people have questioned how much he has left in the tank. The Redskins currently have Hale Hentges, Jeremy Sprinkle, and Caleb Wilson on the roster. They could also look to the draft if they don’t land a veteran TE.
