NFL Legal Tampering Day 2! Redskins Free Agency Rumors and News

Let the legal tampering begin!

The NFL's legal tampering period began yesterday at 12pm EST, and goes until free agency officially starts on Wednesday, March 18th at 4pm EDT. Many deals have already been discussed a few weeks ago at the NFL Combine, and will continue to be reported today. Teams must work through player’s agents during this time, and no contracts can be signed until free agency officially opens..

A lot of action happened on Day 1 of legal tampering. Many names that were linked with the Redskins have signed with other teams, but we haven’t had many reports about actual offers from the team. The one player we now know Ron Rivera’s Redskins coveted was Cowboys WR Amari Cooper. They reportedly offered at least $10 million more, only to watch him re-sign with Dallas for 5-years, $100 million.

Rumored targets James Bradberry(CB) and Blake Martinez(LB) signed with the division-rival New York Giants. The Cowboys lost CB Byron Jones to the Miami Dolphins, another player the Redskins were linked to.

There were a couple of big trades yesterday involving receivers Deandre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs. Many Redskins had wanted Diggs to return to the area, but he was shipped off to Buffalo instead.
