Here's the first #Redskins FA signing https://t.co/9zhs3K3O36
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) March 16, 2020
#Chiefs FA CB Kendall Fuller, a versatile defensive piece, is headed to the #Redskins, per me and @TomPelissero. He gets a four-year deal worth roughly $40M.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 17, 2020
The #Redskins have so many secondary issues to sort out I wouldn't just assume Fuller is definitely an outside CB. They like that he can play nickel and think he could play free safety as well.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) March 17, 2020
Bottom line, they think he's really good and will help a lot.
Yes the Redskins have agreed to terms with CB Kendall Fuller. He’s coming back. @JasonLaCanfora had it first.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 17, 2020
Gotta wonder if Fuller will just stay inside or move him around. Fabian Moreau played much better on the outside last year, but I don’t know if that’s a viable solution long term (or even short term)
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) March 17, 2020
This will introduce the Chiefs to the 2021 compensatory pick board, and remove the Redskins from it for the time being. https://t.co/w5bwrZygFS
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 17, 2020
One thing to remember for any long-term free agent deal announced in the next few hours and days -- some portion of that deal will include 17-game seasons, a 6% increase, and is based on a salary cap that will be significantly larger (48% of revenue next year instead of 47% now)
— Bill-in-Bangkok (@billhorgan2005) March 17, 2020
Miami Dolphins agree to terms with Ereck Flowers $30M over 3 years with $19.95M fully guaranteed, per @RosenhausSports
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 16, 2020
Congrats brodie imma miss you dude https://t.co/a0mkMrpF9r pic.twitter.com/K1JRjmjV0K
— 2️⃣9️⃣ (@DhaSickest) March 16, 2020
CB I think will draw interest by the Skins: Byron Jones. But there will be multiple suitors so interest of course doesn't equate signing
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 16, 2020
The #Vikings have traded WR Stefon Diggs and a seventh-round pick to the #Bills for a first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source said. @JayGlazer first on the trade
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 17, 2020
Stefon Diggs on the move. This convo was about him deciding to come out of Maryland early after injury and his draft stock falling as a result. Ended up 5th rd. #lookatmenow #stefondiggs #FreeAgency #terps (A rather surprise move by MINN, they didn’t want to let him go) pic.twitter.com/Fvzg2Jl6lZ
— Julie Donaldson (@JDonaldsonNBCS) March 17, 2020
Source: Patriots LB Jamie Collins has agreed to terms with the Lions. Will reunited with Detroit coach Matt Patricia.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) March 17, 2020
This was the aggressive attempt I’d anticipated. Would’ve been good for Haskins; ability to win quick etc. But he’s staying in Dallas. https://t.co/SD89hJ30zX
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 17, 2020
Here’s a twist: the Washington Redskins pursued Amari Cooper today and tried to pry him away. Dallas prevailed. https://t.co/DNuD48VV0B
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 17, 2020
Why are people so shocked that Cooper got a $20M a year deal? Adjusted for cap its slightly under Thomas and OBJ and may wind up being for 17 games during most of it.
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) March 17, 2020
If the Redskins offered Cooper significantly more than 5-years, $100M then the Cowboys did them a favor. (Cooper is outstanding. But paying a really good WR $20M plus a year seems foolish at this point in their building process). https://t.co/8G0jkNcpNk
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) March 17, 2020
So, in 2020, it will cost the @dallascowboys 63 million and change to field Dak, Amari and Zeke.
— Rich Eisen (@richeisen) March 17, 2020
Unless, of course, Dak makes a long term deal.
Then its more.
For the three of them.
Alone.
The Cowboys restructured the deals of both RB Ezekiel Elliott and OT La'El Collins earlier today.
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) March 17, 2020
Any extra cap space adds up when your offseason to-do list includes an extension for Amari Cooper and (potentially) Dak Prescott.
What's interesting is a number of top FAs seemed to sign for $1-3M less in AAV than what many were projecting...except Cooper. Redskins must have made a big push to force Dallas to meet that $20M AAV
— Steve Shoup (@Steveospeak) March 17, 2020
DeAndre Hopkins.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 17, 2020
Stefon Diggs

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 16, 2020
The Seahawks enter the 2021 compensatory picks board with a 4th rounder for the departure of George Fant. https://t.co/Q7slZjCt9d
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 17, 2020
Former Steelers’ NT Javon Hargrave reached agreement with the Eagles on a three-year, $39m deal with $26M fully guaranteed, @RosenhausSports tells ESPN. Hargrave becomes the highest paid nose tackle in the NFL.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 17, 2020
I knew the Patriots, as usual, were in line for getting high valued compensatory picks in 2021.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 17, 2020
I did not anticipate that Kyle Van Noy would be one of those on the borderline 3rd/4th round cutoff range. https://t.co/gHBJO0nsn0
Former Browns’ S Eric Murray reached agreement with the Houston Texans on a three-year deal worth up to $20.25 million, per source.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 17, 2020
The #Raiders have had eyes on Marcus Mariota, the former #Titans first-round pick, for some time. Sounds like he has a landing spot. https://t.co/jgkwCHYddm

The Panthers continue to trend more toward signing compensatory free agents than getting comp picks. Nothing necessarily wrong with that. https://t.co/JQxyegaadY
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 16, 2020
Finally have a second to take a breath and soak this in. Thanks to the @ravens for brining me in and giving me a chance in the league. Baltimore was always great to me and I’ve got love for the city, always. This is what we sign up for ! Let’s get to work @AtlantaFalcons #RiseUp

From our breaking news coverage: The #Dolphins made CB Byron Jones, formerly of the #Cowboys, the highest-paid CB in the NFL. pic.twitter.com/APKt1MqcdG
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
This Dolphins stuff signifies either one of two things:
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) March 17, 2020
1)They are using free agency to fill needs and will trade up to get their QB
2)See Above
Source: #Bears are focused on acquiring Andy Dalton or Nick Foles - both veteran quarterbacks who have played for either Matt Nagy or members of coaching staff. There’s a sense in the organization that Mitchell Trubisky should be forced to compete for the starting position.
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) March 16, 2020
Worth keeping in mind that none of these trades or free agent deals can be official before Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. There's one just about every year, it seems like, that unravels after being supposedly done.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) March 17, 2020
Plenty of cap space, especially with new CBA, lot of players franchise tagged and it continues to open up the trade market, which used to be non existent a few years ago. This is...fun!
— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) March 17, 2020
With a league high 13 draft picks the Vikings can now do some major damage and for cheap w rookie deals
— Luke Inman (@Luke_SpinmanNFL) March 17, 2020
Don't count out Spielman trading up for a blue chip player or trading DOWN to stockpile even more picks. He now already has an extra 4th next year to play with regardless.

The league and NFLPA are working on plans to allow free agent players to undergo physicals in their home cities upon signing with new teams. Free agents are barred from traveling to meet with their new teams, and club officials are barred from traveling to meet with free agents.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) March 17, 2020
Bradberry's gone. Jones is gone. So what CBs are left? I lay out two here, one shutdown option and one depth option, who both have ties to Jack Del RIo https://t.co/E1tEZ1jxrT
— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) March 17, 2020
One player I’d like to see the Redskins target is Falcons LB De’Vondre Campbell.

Viewed as Right tackle. Not spending huge $ to then switch to the left side. https://t.co/GIs9NQXPUq
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 16, 2020
Ok cool. Then still have to pay a ton elsewhere. Would u really want to spend that much to upgrade there and now have less for holes elsewhere? I wouldn’t.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 16, 2020
It's been a frenetic first day of free-agency activity, but what's going on with Tom Brady? https://t.co/KjLJBTU77A pic.twitter.com/BMXbkBoPTX

Bud Dupree Steelers
Shaq Barrett Bucs
Leonard Williams Giants
AJ Green Bengals
Chris Jones Chiefs
Derrick Henry Titans
Dak Prescott Cowboys
A glimpse of our world: With free agency on track for this week, some teams are planning to use private planes to fly in premier free agents. Still, those flights require pilots to leave home and work, and teams are not pleased about this. Teams NOT happy free agency this week.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 16, 2020
Atlanta tried to trade Desmond Trufant, but to no avail. https://t.co/4aBVr0GL3t
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
The #Chiefs plan to pick up the contract option for RB Damien Williams, source said, keeping the player who rushed for 104 yards in the Super Bowl in the fold. Williams will make $2.3M in 2020.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
For the #Vikings and QB Kirk Cousins, it’s a 2-year deal worth $66M, source said. In all, it’s 3 years, $96M. $61M guaranteed at signing.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
Summing up the #Vikings deal for Kirk Cousins: 2 new years worth $66M. So 3 years in all for $96M. He has $61M guaranteed at signing. An additional $35M is guaranteed for injury but converts to a fully at the beginning of the 2021 season. They won’t cut him after 1 year and $61M.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
I didn't know a team could sign Kirk to an extension. https://t.co/N0V7ktWlJf
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) March 16, 2020
Prayers up for Stefon Diggs y’all
— (@Trxnzition) March 16, 2020
He doesn’t have coronavirus or anything, he just has to deal with Kirk Cousins as his QB. pic.twitter.com/Mhfq0bvP9o
The #Falcons are releasing RB Devonta Freeman, source says, saving more than $3M against the salary cap and moving on from their former starter.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
The #Bengals informed star WR A.J. Green they're placing the franchise tag on him, per source.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 16, 2020
Cowboys placed exclusive franchise tag on QB Dak Prescott, per source. No other team allowed to sign him.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 16, 2020
Source: The #Colts are releasing veteran DT Margus Hunt, a starter over the last three seasons.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2020
The #Vikings signed FB C.J. Ham to new contract that's worth $12.25 million over four years, including $4M in 2020, source said. A nice bump from the restricted tender.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 16, 2020
Could free up Joe Schobert, who had been heavily linked to the Packers, for a team like the #Redskins to pursue https://t.co/r6ttdEFwvf
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) March 16, 2020
Has been no contact as of now. https://t.co/NGaJVNdU87
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 16, 2020
The players approved the CBA, despite the flaws in the new deal. My thoughts on why the players voted yes and why the one piece of leverage we have won't ever get used. https://t.co/FCK26wNkwR
— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) March 16, 2020
This is a very good question that I do not know the answer to.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 16, 2020
This will be something to keep in mind as compensatory free agents are cut midseason. https://t.co/0RS1QTbsim
Nope. The grand majority of the compensatory formula was never released publicly until Appendix V of the new CBA.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 16, 2020
Today would have been a great opportunity for the superstar players who opposed the CBA on Twitter to acknowledge that the vote has been finalized and that moving forward the union should commit to unifying.
