The Redskins lost Ereck Flowers to the Miami Dolphins in free agency. They were willing to pay $8 million per year, but Miami offered $10m/yr and a chance to go home. The Redskins just signed former Falcons guard Wes Schweitzer with 2nd-year guard Wes Martin to compete to replace him.
Schweitzer(6'5", 330 lbs) reportedly signed a 3-year deal worth $13.5 million. He is a former 6th round pick who has been a backup center and guard for the Falcons. He has started 36 games since being drafted in 2016.
#Redskins are signing former #Falcons G Wes Schweitzer, source says. He gets $13.5 million over three years.

A little more on Wes Schweitzer from a PFF perspective:

- 227 snaps at RG, 50.1 overall grade, 6.9% pressure percentage and 0 sacks allowed
- 487 snaps at LG, 60.1 overall grade, 5.6% pressure percentage, 2 sacks allowed
About the same caliber as Flowers was last year. A little below middle of the pack with some nice flashes. Super physical guy and pretty good mover. Takes a lot of chances in pass pro & needs to clean up his technique (strike timing/placement). I kinda like him though.
