It's been more than a year since @Blovee_20 suffered a torn ACL at Stanford. He's on track to make his NFL debut in 2020 with the #Redskins, and the time off has helped him mature. https://t.co/z9SPyvBRSH
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) March 10, 2020
While the Skins would love a first (who wouldn’t?) , I don’t see that happening. I believe they know it would be difficult as well. So What’s realistic? https://t.co/TH69AflSfO
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 10, 2020
Their job is to get a financial deal. They have zero to do with trade compensation. If agree to $ then that team starts talking with the Skins.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 10, 2020
There’s never a set value. Not all second rounders are the same. There’s no way you’d let a player go out and shop trade comp on your behalf. Again no trade happens without a new contract. That’s all TW is seeking. Just step one.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 10, 2020
Oh man. Way too early to think that.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 10, 2020
I don’t expect a first. The story is about every scenario involved. Skins won’t just give away. That’s all. And if can’t get what they want... repeat. But i wouldn’t give away either.
— John Keim (@john_keim) March 10, 2020
Give $ back? How long Have you followed sports? . He wants an extension. Right now his contract is great for any team. It’s about an extension... no a team would not have to give anything if he left as a free agent. They would get a comp pick but that doesn’t come from a team.

This makes sense, so teams won't have to rescind tags. So here's the timeline ...
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) March 10, 2020
• March 14, 11:59 p.m. ET: Player voting on CBA closes.
• March 16, 11:59 a.m. ET: Franchise tag window closes.
• March 16, 12:00 p.m. ET: Legal tampering window opens.
(Corrected) https://t.co/hYfmVRZgE0
The new timeline eliminates the unusual possibility of a team using two tags under Final League Year rules and then needing to rescind one if players ratify the CBA. If players vote no on the CBA, teams can still apply both tags, right before the negotiating window opens. Wild.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 10, 2020
NFL’s franchise tag deadline is 11:59.59 Monday am et.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 10, 2020
Legal tampering starts one second later Monday.
Quite a week ahead.
Even with the recent date changes to the CBA vote and the franchise-tag deadline, the new league year stands firm. It starts Wednesday, March 18 at 4:00 pm. ET.

No one Q’s Trent Williams talent, but have to consider he hasn’t played in a yr, or all 16 in 6, wants top $$/long term. The mkt may not be so open to demands. I’m told CLE would have a hard time parting w/ even a 2nd RD for him. Don’t expect a Browns deal at TW’s asking price.
— Julie Donaldson (@JDonaldsonNBCS) March 10, 2020
#Redskins are expected to look hard at the WR market this offseason, both via trade and free agency, per Albert Breer. Some names to watch are Amari Cooper and Stefon Diggs, if Minnesota makes him available.
— Jordan (@redskinstoday_) March 9, 2020
Based on what I’ve heard, I’d expect #Jets to be in the final running for #Panthers CB James Bradberry. #Redskins might not be as invested in him as many originally believed. #Giants & Dave Gettleman are interested, but from what I’ve heard, they won’t pay near what others will
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) March 10, 2020
Been hearing that the #Redskins are more interested in two lower-tier CBS rather than one high-priced player. Fuller is what I’ve heard most. https://t.co/aogLJuXwsM
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) March 10, 2020
Two intriguing names that have been discussed in trade talks as the league year nears opening: #Ravens QB Robert Griffin III and #Raiders G Gabe Jackson, sources say. Jackson is due $9.6M and RGIII is due $2M. Both contracts are not guaranteed and both are tradable.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 10, 2020
The more I’ve watched of Zack Baun and the more I’ve loved how fluid his hands are. Just re-watched a clip vs. Minnesota and didn’t even realize he had hit the TE with a double swipe. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up being a first round pick, if he wasn’t already.

Sources: The #Texans have agreed to terms on a 2-year contract extension for TE Darren Fells worth $7M. The deal, which pays the soon-to-be 34-year old $4M in 2020, comes after Fells set a career-high with 7 TDs. Now, he sticks in Houston.

#Redskins were awarded a fourth-round compensatory pick in the 2020 NFL Draft

I am actually quite confused as to why Tyrann Mathieu's contract yielded the highest comp pick. He was an All-Pro and had high snap counts, but his APY was only $14M, as opposed to $18M APY for Trey Flowers and $16.5M for Trent Brown. https://t.co/23plJflvJi
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 10, 2020
I should cherish this moment of getting 33 out of 33 compensatory picks correct for at least by team, and 30 out of 33 by round as well.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) March 10, 2020
With the new comp pick rules looming in the proposed CBA, I will not have nearly as high confidence that I'll be able to repeat that in 2021.
The NFL has pretty much released the lion's share of the comp pick rules now, thanks to Appendix V in the proposed CBA. https://t.co/MrNS131qo3

Russell Okung has dropped out of the race for NFLPA president after filing unfair labor practices charge against the union with the NLRB, source confirms, as @TomPelissero reported. Sam Acho, J.C. Tretter, Giants' Michael Thomas remain in the race.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) March 10, 2020
JC Tretter won the @NFLPA presidency on the first ballot. His stance on the CBA isn't known. More on @nflnetwork now.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 10, 2020
The NFLPA did not reveal the vote count, but J.C. Tretter's election required a majority vote by all members in the room. Tretter beat out Sam Acho and Michael Thomas, after Russell Okung declined his nomination.
