All atwitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

Absent a new collective bargaining agreement, teams can still apply both tags, which is big for teams such as the #Cowboys and #Titans. If players vote to approve the proposed CBA, as owners already did, it’d go back to one tag per team. The sides meet Tuesday in Indianapolis.

We are entering uncharted waters. Ron Rivera—and even more interestingly, Kyle Smith—will be speaking from a labeled podium at the Combine. Like real executives. From a real team. On a SCHEDULE. https://t.co/kLXAaNbLq0

Here is the transcript & audio of today's conference call w/ @MoveTheSticks previewing the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine: https://t.co/9ZzDLfFCJp

Some notes on the call:
- 95+ participants
- 46 questions answered
- 1 hour, 48 minutes in length
.@NFL #NFLFANS #NFLGM’s OK all of you “wannabe GM’s”. Here is your available “Cap Space” as of 2/19 and teams are tossing “deck chairs” off their yachts to create more $$$. I count 15 teams with 50 Mill to spend. What are you doing to improve your team? #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/Yvl2eMvnIN

Only 18 NFL WRs have averaged over 2.0 yards per route run as rookies (min 40 targets) over the last 10 years. Pretty good group to be in.

Olsen got $8 mil so don’t know why some are surprised by this number ♂️. In 2 years this will be Top 20 TE money, not Top 5. It’s all about perspective. Hooper is a high IQ player who’ll help a rookie TE that they’ll inevitably draft somewhere between rounds 3-5.

Reading official transcript from @MoveTheSticks' lengthy call with NFL media today, it has him saying "Chiasson" is "the best player in the draft," but listening to the call audio, he clearly said "Chase Young," which makes more sense. Those two sound a lot alike …

Imagine how good Terry McLaurin would be as a WR2 if we were to somehow get a guy like AJ Green or Amari Cooper. Terry McLaurin against CB2s would be scary

No problem. Will say that I think truly need to see him out there first before truly knowing much. I know some have concern. Widespread concern? Dunno. Hope Rivera provides some update next week at combine

From our news break on @nflnetwork a short while ago: Healthcare was a big talking point on today’s NFLPA leadership conference call. We’ll also see if the owners were bluffing by hinting there wasn’t time for further talks before the start of the league year. pic.twitter.com/sVB9Am3hx5

I have that "we're about to vote down a reasonable-but-flawed solution for muddled reasons and plunge the world into anarchy " feeling from November 2016 again.
— Mike Tanier (@MikeTanier) February 21, 2020
Because "big structural change" is not something you introduce after you have been at the negotiation table for a year, with major decisions looming. It's like saying "the enemy army is coming over the hill. Let's vote for some new generals and restructure our army!"
— Mike Tanier (@MikeTanier) February 22, 2020
There's productively fighting for your agenda and then there's conducting 11th hour sabotage. Uncompromising people make great Twitter follows but poor labor leaders.
— Mike Tanier (@MikeTanier) February 22, 2020
Guys in the league since '14 have benefitted from that, and may not even know it, with the cap going up about $10 million per year (which is about $320M per year league-wide). Indeed, the cap was flat from 2011-13, and those '11 exec comm guys were gone within that timeframe.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) February 22, 2020
If a delay causes the league to get less under the TV deals, whose pocket is the difference coming out of? https://t.co/yhA0AIibbd
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) February 21, 2020
No. Which also means there’s no leverage to be exercised as to the TV deals. The mutual risk of waiting until April comes from the possibility that the next NFLPA president and the new board members, elected in March, blow it all up and start over.
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) February 22, 2020
My guess is the one this week may be a deadline to play under new rules (more P5 salary this year, only 1 tag, $100M pc bump) this year unless they just do something wacky with the cap this year to protect teams.
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) February 22, 2020
Representatives of the NFLPA and league are scheduled to meet Tuesday in Indianapolis. NFLPA says the 32 player reps will vote after that on proposed CBA. The deal then could be put to a ratification vote of all players, regardless of the outcome of the vote of the player reps.
