All atwitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed has been cleared from the league's concussion protocol program, a source tells @TheAthleticDC. Expectations remain that Washington releases Reed, who missed the entire 2019 season.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) February 19, 2020
This seems somehow ironic given that he was cleared from concussion protocol today. Perhaps this is the old one and he's upgrading? https://t.co/itDVwoH00i
— Bill-in-Bangkok (@billhorgan2005) February 19, 2020
For what it’s worth: was told Jordan Reed “100 percent” wants to continue playing.
— John Keim (@john_keim) February 19, 2020
Sigh. Is this really that difficult? He wants to keep playing. That’s the point. Whether he actually does is another matter. A team must sign. But his desire is to play.
— John Keim (@john_keim) February 19, 2020
Adrian Peterson will be 35 this season and probably gonna play until 50 https://t.co/y1jtL2rZ5T
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 19, 2020
After seeing Adrian Peterson at Ron Rivera’s introductory press conference as #Redskins coach and him saying he was excited, there was no doubt that the organization wanted him back. He’s a Rivera type of player who works hard and leads by example.

Rivera in interview on #Redskins website: "The fan base is really strong. It's been a little dormant. We gotta bring it back." It's important that he gets this, and says it aloud.

Found some intriguing numbers from when Scott Turner was play-caller for the Panthers last year:
— Nick Akridge (@PFF_NickAkridge) February 19, 2020
- 51.6% shift/motion percentage (9th most)
- 11.6% RPO percentage (7th most)
- 26% run percentage (last)
- 31.3% 1st down runs (league average was 49%)
I’ll get you season tickets if you support us 100% through good and bad https://t.co/otO3puYtF5

This fan base is the most loyal in the NFL. We been supporting bad seasons for over 20 years with no complaints. This last year we protested so YOU would get great coaches & A bum GM gone so u could finally have a chance to win. You’re welcome. https://t.co/Z7YMSrFD6N

He says that Hooper is unlikely to be tagged; I concur.
— Bill-in-Bangkok (@billhorgan2005) February 19, 2020
But check this out:
"Washington struggles to develop quality players, so it wouldn't be a shock if the 'Skins tagged one of the best draft picks they made last decade."

Trading Diggs would free up $5.5M in cap space for the #Vikings. A team would need to take on $11.5M in salary https://t.co/DCmEusuxud

LSU LB Patrick Queen is an incredible athlete. His ability on this play to keep his balance, stay off the ground and finish is...well, ridiculous. Outstanding prospect. https://t.co/CNv7c9bSH5

Boy, the NFL has changed, part 97,453: Washington dealt a first-round pick for the rights to Joe Theismann in 1974 and then made him a punt returner. They didn't make him the full-time starting QB until 1978 when he was 29 years old.
— Aaron Schatz (@FO_ASchatz) February 19, 2020
Point I just made on air, only 4 of the top 15 sack players were on playoff teams, 4/15 QB hits were on playoff teams. There is no way a single player, even an 'elite' pass rusher can compare to multiple quality starters. Only pos that can have that kind of impact is QB

Has some running back question so did a very quick search of all 3+ year contracts signed since 2016. Yards per game in year of signing falls about 8% from average YPG in the two years prior to signing. Receiving yards around 13%.
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) February 19, 2020
If you pull those players out its about a 35% YPG drop and 28% RYPG drop. So if you can buck the odds and get a guy you wont dump after a year thats on average what you could look forward to
— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) February 19, 2020

The NFL owners' meeting on the CBA is Thursday afternoon in New York. The owners are to discuss the state of the negotiations with the NFLPA. It's not clear at this point if they'll take a ratification vote on the proposed CBA.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) February 19, 2020
NFL playoff structure is about to be changed. Under the current CBA proposal, seven teams from each conference will make the playoffs, with only bye per conference, sources tell ESPN. It would go into effect this upcoming season. More coming on https://t.co/rDZaVFhcDQ.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 19, 2020
Had the playoff structure now on the table for the 2020 season been in effect this past season, the Steelers and Rams would have been in the postseason, playing on wild-card weekend.https://t.co/1eeUzVIbyB
