HAIL TO THE FOOTBALL TEAM! If the Washington Football team’s 23-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t get you amped up you shouldn’t be here.
This was without question the most impressive win in recent franchise history. Not only because WFT beat an unbeaten, 11-0 Steelers team. But the way in which they won really stood out.
Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson, the team’s top two playmakers, touched the ball a combined four times for just 28 yards. In previous games – hell, in previous years – the team would just roll over and move on to next week. But not this week. This week Logan Thomas and Cam Sims stepped up.
This was a culture changing win. Washington proved to have playmakers and they did it against the AFC’s best team.
While the offense will get a lot of credit, deservedly so, this game was won by the defense. I challenge anyone to name a better edge duo than Montez Sweat and Chase Young. They haven’t even played a full season together and they’re already the league’s best duo. I dare someone to change my mind.
A couple game balls are handed out in the podcast, plus a look ahead as the NFC East division race all of the sudden has gotten really fun.
