The #WashingtonFootball has now won three straight, are (5-7) on the year, beat #Steelers in Pittsburgh and all of a sudden the NFC East is surging at the top with the #NYG and #WFT.
— Chris Russell AKA The Rooster (@Russellmania621) December 8, 2020
2020! @WashingtonNFL @WSHFootballSI
With one team winning in Seattle and another just handing Pittsburgh its first loss, laughter dying down considerably about the two teams atop the NFC East.

This is Washington’s first win in Pittsburgh since Nov. 17, 1991. It snaps a six-game losing streak against the Steelers.

Washington's 14-point comeback in Pittsburgh is the league's 38th double-digit comeback win of the year, adding to the record through 13 weeks.
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) December 8, 2020
Thx Mike, I know @steelers is your hometown team. They will rebound for u. https://t.co/Kz8xBKFmKi
— Stephanie Rivera (@CoachRiv2) December 8, 2020
One thing has become very obvious:
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) December 8, 2020
The early-season claims of Washington having no offensive talent were wrong. McLaurin, Gibson, McKissic, Thomas, and C.Sims can all make plays. They've proven it consistently throughout the year.
Does show how stats can be an empty stat (sometimes)... Wash zero sacks, but moved Big Ben off his spot a few times and got hands in his face. Hit him a couple times. Key is: How often do you affect the throw? Wash did that a decent amount in the 2nd half.
— John Keim (@john_keim) December 8, 2020
H/T to @john_keim for asking Alex Smith about this. Smith said: "It was not intentional, really. I was just trying to speed up the process of us getting off and getting the K-ball on so they could go kick it."

— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) December 8, 2020
Rivera on how the win ranks for him: "This is up there. In spite of some decisions I made today, they played their asses off. This really does rank up there because of the fact we beat them in Pittsburgh. ... Real proud of them."
— John Keim (@john_keim) December 8, 2020
Rivera had not yet talked to the doctors so no real update on RB Antonio Gibson yet.
— John Keim (@john_keim) December 8, 2020
Look for a leader instead of a coach with a sexy playbook. Being a head coach has little to do with the Xs and Os and more to do with establishing a culture with high standards of commitment, accountability and trust. https://t.co/BPy5HdgCrc

— Dwayne Haskins, Jr (@dh_simba7) December 8, 2020
Alex Smith was four yards short of throwing for his third 300-yard game since becoming the starter for Washington. His story gets more remarkable each week. He just wins games. Period!

— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 8, 2020
The Steelers ran the ball 14 times for 21 yards.
Pittsburgh gave up the 3rd-highest point total all season and had only their 2nd game without forcing a turnover.
— WASHINGTON FOOTBALL (@HogsHaven) December 8, 2020
Washington did this with their leading WR and RB combining for 28 yards.

Entering today, @WashingtonNFL was 4-7 and Pittsburgh was 11-0
— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) December 8, 2020
Washington's 4-7 record was the worst by any team in NFL history to defeat a team that entered that game with an 11-0 or better record

Andy Reid in video presser: "I’ve never had a receiver that didn’t know he caught the ball. So, I mean, he came off and said he didn’t catch it. And I probably should have hung on to that just a little bit longer, to look at the replay."
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) December 7, 2020
Andy Reid postgame: “We finished it up when everything wasn’t going right. In years past, maybe you don’t win that game.... We didn’t talk at all about it in the locker room, about the playoffs. We just talked about getting ourselves ready for next week.”

Rex Ryan on the Gregg Williams call (via @GetUpESPN): “Dumbest call I’ve ever seen. Been around the thing for 58 years, 30 years as a coach. That’s the dumbest call ever. There’s a time and place for Cover-0. That sure ain’t it. It’s just stupid.” #Jets pic.twitter.com/pvFtL1XgBh

— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 7, 2020

Who wants to be the one to tell Dave Gettleman that since drafting Saquon Barkley with the 2nd overall pick, the Giants are 8-23 when Barkley plays and 6-7 when Barkley does not?
