Update: Washington makes the moves official, and also elevates QB Steven Montez from the practice squad for the 2nd straight week. This is not a good sign for Alex Smith playing tomorrow, and likely means he will be inactive again. Dwayne Haskins Jr. would start again with Taylor Heinicke as the backup and Montez as #3. This is not a positive development for a team that has a chance to clinch the division this weekend with a win over the Panthers and a Giants loss to the Ravens.

Ron Rivera said that Antonio Gandy-Golden has been practicing and the team would evaluate whether he would be activated from injured reserve today. That decision has been made, and AGG will return to the lineup for the first time since Week 6 when he injured his hamstring against the New York Giants. He has been at practice for the past two weeks, and will return the same week that #1 WR Terry McLaurin is likely to be inactive.

Antonio Gandy-Golden was one of the Washington Football team’s 4th round picks this year, but hasn’t had much of a chance to make an impact yet. He currently has more rushing yards(22) than receiving(3) and only has 1 reception. He will now replace the veteran who moved past him on the depth chart in training camp. Dontrelle Inman has been a healthy scratch for the past few weeks, and has now been released to make room for the returning rookie.

Earlier in the week Washington protected 4 practice squad players:

They also re-signed WR Jeff Badet to the practice squad.

Washington added two new TEs this week:
