We learned that Dwayne Haskins Jr. had lost his captain's patch today during practice. Ron Rivera talked about it during his post-game presser. He said Haskins was honest about what happened, and apologized to the team today. Haskins now has to be tested twice a day, practice with a mask on, and attend all team meetings virtually.
The team had several other options available for punishment including fines and a suspension. Rivera did say Haskins was fined, but didn't say how much, and was very eager to move on from the issue.
Ian Rapoport is reporting Haskins' fine is $40k and is the most any player has received this season for COVID-19 protocol violations. Haskins was fined $4,833 two months ago for inviting a friend to the team hotel. The team was allowed to fine Haskins up to 1 week's worth of pay. Rapoport points out this isn't the maximum fine, bit it is more than half of his weekly pay.
Washington QB Dwayne Haskins was fined $40K by the team for COVID-19 violations after he attended a strip club without a mask, source said. A significant amount. This is the largest known fine for a player for a COVID violation – more than half of Haskins’ weekly paycheck.
