It was reported earlier today that the Washington Football Team was signing OT David Steinmetz from the practice squad. The team has two tackles listed as questionable this week[Morgan Moses(groin), David Sharpe(knee)]. Moses is expected to play, but Sharpe could miss tomorrow's game against the 49ers. Steinmetz has already been elevated from the practice squad twice this year and had to be signed to the main roster if Washington wanted him active.
The corresponding roster move will place DE Ryan Anderson on injured reserve. He has missed the last 3 games with a knee injury. Going to IR will force him to miss at least the next 3 games. The earliest he will be eligible to return will be Week 17's division game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The final move announced by Washington today was a move most people expected the team to make. Undrafted rookie RB Javon Leake has been elevated from the practice squad and will be active tomorrow. Starting RB Antonio Gibson has already been ruled out, and that leaves the team with two RBs available, J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber.
