Head coach Ron Rivera is speaking to the media now. The team decided to give RB Bryce Love a "rest day" today after doing a lot of work in practice the past two days. Love is still on IR, and Washington has 19 days to decide whether to keep him there or activate him.

RB Bryce Love isn't on the injury report, but he didn’t practice today. Rest day, per Rivera. Washington worked on turf the last days and they're taking it slow with that knee. The 21-day period to activate him off IR began Wednesday.

Ron Rivera is addressing the media. He said he is starting to feel stronger after the completion of his treatment. He said this game will be the best he's felt in a while.

Ron Rivera said that kicker Dustin Hopkins (groin) could be a gametime decision. @WashingtonNFL has Kaare Vedvik on the practice squad, so he could be temporarily called up for Sunday's game if Hopkins can't go.

Washington hasn't scored an opening touchdown this year, but Rivera doesn't see a common theme that causes that problem. He just thinks it comes down to the offense finishing drives.

If Terry McLaurin gets matched up against former Ohio State teammate Jeff Okudah on Sunday, Ron Rivera said it'll make for some good football. Hopes McLaurin, as a vet, can take advantage of it, if the Lions choose to place Okudah on him.

Rivera has said throughout the week that the linebackers need to play better. Russ thinks that can light a fire under players, but he also says his player are aware they need to get better and they're dedicated to improving.

Russ says that the LB group has to be "a lot more consistent."

"When you're a linebacker, you don't want anyone running the ball on you." The Giants did that last week.

Thomas Davis hasn't had much of an impact on Sundays, but Russ said the media doesn't see the impact that Davis has off the field. He has incredible insight, Russ said, and he brings the juice every day.

Russ said it's noticeable that Rivera is feeling better. There were subtle things during Rivera's treatment where Russ could tell he wasn't feeling himself. But now it's awesome to see him getting better.
