Ron Rivera didn’t hold his usual Monday presser today, he was a little busy having his last cancer treatment! Instead of Rivera, the Washington Football Team provided Offensive Coordinator Scott Turner and Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio to the media.
Cole Holcomb did a lot of good things vs the Cowboys, including making Ezekiel Elliott forget how to be a professional football player. Kamren Curl got the call at strong safety when Landon Collins went down with a season-ending Achilles injury. Del Rio likes Deshazor Everett at free safety, and wanted the rookie to play the other spot.
The team will do full evaluations during the bye. The season is almost half way over, and there is a lot to improve on.
Del Rio said Chase Young is not necessarily getting the numbers that stand out, but he is playing excellent for Washington. The unselfishness he has displayed has been impressive.
Del Rio said Kerrigan is fresher when he is rested and able to focus on what he does best. They love giving him the opportunity, he said, and it’s not about how many snaps you take; it’s what you do with those snaps.
Cole Holcomb:
Jack Del Rio is addressing the media right now. He said Cole Holcomb played outstanding and did a lot of good things. He has a bright future, Del Rio said, and he wants to see more of that from him.

Safety:
Del Rio said once Landon Collins went out, Kam Curl replaced him at strong safety and Deshazor Everett stayed at free safety. They did not want to move Shaz to strong because he's been playing free the past several weeks.

Landon Collins:

Del Rio said he texted with Landon Collins last night. Told him to "heal up and carry on."
