Ron Rivera gave some injury updates after today’s practice. The Washington Football Team is very thin at wide receiver this week. Rivera confirmed that Antonio Gandy-Golden(hamstring) and Isaiah Wright(shoulder) are out on Sunday. He also said that the two practice squad WRs(Troy Brown and Jeff Badet) who were protected this week will be activated for the Cowboys game.
The atmosphere around the Washington/Dallas rivalry will be different without fans around. The tension will be there between the two teams as soon as they enter the building. He wants his young players to know how intense the rivalry is, and compared it to a college rivalry.
Aside from the turnovers, Kyle Allen did what he was expected to do. Rivera said Kyle Allen has been able to sustain success and keep drives going. He believes Allen has improved in consistency. Rivera said there isn’t a cutoff point for Kyle Allen, and that there wasn’t one for Dwayne Haskins Jr. This is in contrast to him definitely saying there was a cutoff point for Dwayne Haskins Jr. before benching him...
Press Conference: Ron RiveraHead Coach Ron Rivera spoke to the media about the rivalry game, what he saw from Kyle Allen and more.

Antonio Gandy-Golden and Isaiah Wright out:
Rivera said no practice time this week for Antonio Gandy-Golden and Isaiah Wright. Sounds like practice-squad receivers Tony Brown and Jeff Badet likely elevated for Sunday.

Dallas vs Washington rivalry:
Ron Rivera is addressing the media now. He said the atmosphere surrounding the Cowboys and Washington will feel different without fans, but he knows he will still feel the tension between the two teams once he gets to the stadium.
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) October 21, 2020
Ron Rivera joked that he hoped the Cowboys went deep into overtime and then lost so they would be tired and disappointed going into this week's game. He said there could be an advantage with the Cowboys playing Monday night.

Rivera said he wants the young players to know the rivalry between Dallas and Washington is as big as any college rivalry. But more importantly, it's a division game.

Cowboys defense:
Ron Rivera says "you gotta be careful with that crap" when it comes to just assuming this is going to be an easy day for the #WashingtonFootball offense against a bad #Cowboys defense.

Kyle Allen:
Ron Rivera said that aside from the turnovers, Kyle Allen "did the things that we expected of him."
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) October 21, 2020
Rivera said Kyle Allen has been able to sustain success and keep drives going. That's what you want, he said, and that is something he has done consistently so far. With the exception of Sunday's INT, he believes Allen has improved in consistency.
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) October 21, 2020
Ron Rivera said that on the interception, Kyle Allen was fooled on the coverage. However, he said Allen was more consistent than he was at times in Carolina.

Dwayne Haskins:
Rivera is asked if there’s a cut-off point for Kyle Allen similar to the one he mentioned for Dwayne Haskins. Says that he didn't actually have a cut-off point for Haskins. That he made that call based on what he saw...
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) October 21, 2020
Rivera says there's no cutoff point for Kyle Allen; says he didn't have a drop dead point with Haskins, either. (did say there was a point where needed to see more; left it ambiguous). Just wasn't seeing what he wanted.

Winning mentality:
A winning mentality takes time to build.
— Washington Football Team (@WashingtonNFL) October 21, 2020
Ron Rivera said there is not a specific timetable for developing a winning mentality. In Carolina, he said it happened in his third year after the team lost a bunch of close games the first two seasons.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) October 21, 2020
NFC East:
Rivera said he tries to pay attention to what's going on with other teams in the division. It's important, he said. While the Cowboys are currently in first place, every team in the NFC East is one game behind.
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) October 21, 2020
3rd/4th down efficiency:
Ron Rivera was pleased with the offense's third- and fourth-down efficiency against the Giants. @WashingtonNFL was better than 50% on third down, which was much better than its season average.
