Ron Rivera didn’t provide any real injury updates during his presser this morning. Three Washington Football Team players left the game vs the Giants yesterday with injuries. Rookie OL Saahdiq Charles got the call to play in his first NFL game, and was named the starter at left guard, replacing a struggling Wes Martin. He lasted two plays before a knee injury took him out of the game. Rivera praised him today, but acknowledged he has been plagued with injuries since being drafted in the 4th round this year.
Tom Pelissero broke the news about the nature of Charles’ injury, and gave a projected timeline for his return to the field. The rookie from LSU dislocated his kneecap yesterday. Washington has a bye after this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The early hope is that Charles can be back the following week when the team plays the Giants again.
Washington OL Saahdiq Charles suffered a dislocated kneecap Sunday on his second NFL snap, per source. He won’t play this week against the #Cowboys, but the team has a bye the following week and the early hope is he’s back after that.
