Ron Rivera talked about the QB situation going into this week. Kyle Allen returned to practice today, and will be the starter this week. He looked good in practice and made all the throws he was asked to make. He is confident and competitive which his teammates recognize.
Dwayne Haskins Jr. didn’t practice today after coming to the facility and being sent home by the team doctor with medicine. Haskins was also sent home on Sunday because he was sick, and missed the Rams game. Rivera described it as a gastrointestinal issue. He also said the team is not keeping him out of the building. Rivera said he hasn’t quit on Haskins in terms of his development. He wouldn’t answer questions about a potential trade.
There has been a lack of consistency with some of the younger players. Guys like Geron Christian Sr. and Wes Martin were mentioned and Rivera wasn’t pleased with the guard play last week. The OL hasn’t been bad this year, but last week was a bad game for them. Saahdiq Charles was practicing at guard today, and Rivera said there could be an opportunity for him this week. Brandon Scherff also returned to practice from IR and took some first team reps, but as listed as limited. Rivera said he’s still coming back from injury and they need to see how he responds this week.

Lack of consistency:
Rivera's biggest concern during this losing streak: "Lack of consistency as a football team."
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) October 14, 2020
Rivera said the consistency is not where it needs to be. They have to play well for 60 minutes. That has not happened yet, and that's what has been frustrating to him.
— Zach Selby (@ZachDSelby) October 14, 2020
COVID-19:

— Chris Russell AKA The Rooster (@Russellmania621) October 14, 2020

On QB Daniel Jones: live arm and athletic
"We're taking this very serious because it's a divisional opponent."
Simple mistakes:
Rivera said that they have a lot of young and inexperienced players, so there are going to be mistakes, But when simple things go wrong and there are repeat mistakes, that's what makes Rivera frustrated.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) October 14, 2020
Rivera says with young players (specifically Christian & Martin by name) is that they're young players but if/when they keep seeing repeat mistakes, that's when you have to make a decision.
— Chris Russell AKA The Rooster (@Russellmania621) October 14, 2020
Seems like same thought process they used with Dwayne.
Kendall Fuller:
Good question from @PeteHaileyNBCS asking Rivera if Kendall Fuller could get some safety reps. Rivera said he's got to see which of the current safeties are best suited to pair w Landon
