The Redskins recently announced their assistant coaches and linebackers coach Steve Russ worked with Kuechly for the past two seasons in Carolina. There is no assistant linebackers coach on the staff, but that’s a role that could be created. There are few rules about assistant coaches in the NFL; for example, last season the Redskins employed an inside linebackers coach and an outside linebackers coach because they played a 3-4 system. This year the team will play the 4-3.
Should be be hired in Jacksonville, Gruden would have some promising pieces to work with. Rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew showed plenty of hope in the 12 games he started, and second-year wideout D.J. Chark enjoyed a breakout season in 2019. Additionally, running back Leonard Fournette finished with a career-high 1,152 rushing yards last season
The former wide receiver in early 2015, flipped by Scot McCloughan and Jay Gruden in training camps that year was graded in coverage by PFF as just a tick below Sherman.
A great success story. Now if he can stay on the field for 14 or 15 games, as opposed to the 18 total games he’s been available for in the last two seasons.
Liberty recently moved up to the FBS level, but the strongest competition it faced in 2019 was a date with the Virginia Cavaliers, and the Flames lost 55-27. However, in that game, Gandy-Golden went for six grabs, 60 yards, and a score. At 6-4 and 220 pounds with subtle smoothness to create separation, physicality to beat press at the line, and a star rebounder’s mentality when challenged at the catch point, Gandy-Golden is a serious prospect.
Robinson, who rushed for 1,899 yards and 18 touchdowns for Illinois State this season, finished with 80 yards rushing on seven attempts. He gained an additional 56 yards on two receptions, one a 46-yarder that led to a field goal.
Claypool has played in a low-volume inefficient passing offense during his career, yet he still managed to crack 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 66 receptions. Claypool is a big physical receiver who will be heavily scrutinized on his speed and short area quickness.
Bredeson looks like a 3rd/4th round pick who could push to start as a rookie. He’s better in pass protection right now than run blocking, but that shouldn’t be too much of a concern for NFL teams.
